Someone posted in Holday Village this year that they were able to upgrade to AI when they were there. This is totally differant to when we were there last season. Maybe they saw there was a demand for this.

Thanks Carol. I only noticed that when I read recent reviews of the HV AFTER I'd posted the above  . I only checked the reviews cos I'd read one of your posts about Jason doing another season. Glad I read reviews cos there were one or two dodgy ones about Kusadasi and Olu Deniz on Holidays Uncovered (our next 2 hols) but then when I saw some not so favourable about the HV from last year I then wondered if they's been to the same place as me! You can't please everyone, I know, but it's not as if I'm easily pleased or not fussy..cos I am.

Iberostar Toucan Playacar mexico
Lots of people have mentioned various Iberostars and it seems to be one of the best chains of AI hotels.

If it has to be April, then I don't think you'll be able to do Greece (or the Islands) as I'm sure their season doesn't start until May when the weather warms up.

I'm sure if you do your research well, on here, ask loads of questions, read as many reviews as you can, you'll get the right holiday for you and your family.

I would recommend Cyprus, can get quite nice weather starting in April, hotel quality in my opinion and experience seems good. Have a look at the reviews for the Phaethon Beach Club, Paphos, ideal for families.

Fully endorse Lisaeugiene comments re Phaetheon being ideal for families. Have just returned from there with a 5year old and she loved it.

 There is only ONE all inclusive hotel and that is the Flamingo Oasis in Benidorm - it warrants five stars, you cannot fault it, visit and have a good time :wave :kiss

Perhaps I have misunderstood, but I always assumed that all inclusive holidays were for "expensive" resorts in " exclusive areas. Why on earth would anybody want to go all inclusive in Europe when the prices are so cheap anyway?

Sorry all folk are just not as well off as others Loppy Lou, and A /I is a great option to some people, especially those with kids.
I also think Eupope is not so CHEAP now as the drink prices in many parts are above UK prices.

I too think that things have gone really expensive now abroad, especially drinks. We have recently returned from Zante..average prices for a round for our family - 2 cokes, a pint and a vodka and orange came to 12 euros. Thats equivalent to £8. Food wasn't bad in a lot of places. Our average meal bill each night came to between 30 and 40 euros. This often included T-bones and sirloins. We were well impressed.

nic, i know what you mean about going away during half term - i am a student teacher too. Unfortunately it is much more expensive during half term, so no wonder people are taking their kids out of school. I have done that myself in the past. We have just come back from a half term break in Zakynthos. Went on a self catering basis but we have booked to go on an all inclusive holiday to Rhodes at the begining of september before uni term begins again on the 27th. This all inclusive thing is new to me as well, so me and my hubby are a bit apprehensive about it.

My partner and I are A/I veterans you might say! Standards vary as do the food and drink packages.
We will be in Sharm staying at the same hotel as Pippy in August though at a slightly later date. We have also booked through 'Med Hotels' on the net, to stay at The Eva Bay Beach in Adele, Crete, A/I in October at a cost of £320 for two, excluding flights. Having stayed at a sister Hotel in Fodele, Crete, we have a good idea what to expect, it is a 4*. The advantage is if the weather has changed as it may do in Crete at that time of year, we don't have to worry about going out and looking for a place to eat or drink.
My advice is to look at the potential weather conditions when you expect to go and book the highest star you can afford, then enjoy!!
