di39,

Should be 20kg + 5kg hand luggage. Depends who you are flying with, presumably Onur Air (OHY prefix).

Aegean allow 15 kg on domestic flights and 20 kg on international flights plus 5kg handbaggage. Please note that only ONE bag is carried free of charge up to that weight in the hold and ONE piece of handbaggage. (I had this directly from Aegean when I emailed to find out how many bags one was allowed!!)

Hi thanks for that should i presume that turkey is classed as international so that is 20kg. Thanks Diane.

di39,

Yes. By definition, domestic is within the country of departure. International is outside the country of departure.

di39,

If you're on the OHY4420/1, it'll be an Airbus A321-200. These are configured 3-3. For more information, please refer to the Onur Air thread.

Does anyone have any other contact numbers for Aegean other than 01273 716301 ? My mate has tried them everyday for the past 2 weeks and they are constantly engaged. Their line(aegeans) doesn't allow the use of the ring back facility either. They don't repond to emails either.

I've just seen some flights with Aegean that are a better price than Thomson (who we usually fly to Bodrum with)

But I haven't come across them before and am a little worried in the present climate (financial!) as to whether they're a stable airline or not ? Can anyone shed any light on them ?

Thanks

Miss_Chief1,

Aegean Flights aren't an airline, they are a booking agent. They charter airlines to operate flights for them, mainly Onur Air. You'll find airline information on the dedicated Onur Air topic. They're an established agent and Onur Air are currently in a good position so you should be fine, just take the usual precautions. If I had any criticism, it's they do tend to move flight times around after booking. You'll find plenty of members complaints about this.

Thanks as ever Dazbo :tup

I can't believe I thought they were an airline on their own ! I guess it's because they don't indicate that the flights will be with Onur until after you book ?

Yes, I've read those complaints...fingers crossed we'll be ok if I book

There actually is an airline called Aegean, an independent Greek company and a very good to fly with too. Used them a few times over the past few years and never been disappointed. They've just partnered with BMI and are now offering connecting flights from Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast, Aberdeen and Dublin via Heathrow to many Greek destinations.

They don't have any connection with AegeanFlights but I'm sure many folks get confused because of the similarity of names.

You can read about them here

We have booked to fly to Turkey this Friday through Aegean Flights. We are flying out to Dalaman on a Pegasus flight, returning on an Onur flight on the 28th.

Our luggage allowance is 15kg each.

However, we have just packed our bags (early, I know) and have found we are both over the limit! 15kg for two weeks just isn't enough!

Anyway, I realise we have two bits of hand luggage to take on. Is there a weight limit on this? Or just a size limit?

Also - does anyone know what Aegean would charge for an additional 5kg of luggage if we book it in advance? I have rung them but am waiting for them to ring back.

Ah - thanks for moving my post. I wasn't sure if it belonged in Aegean, Onur or Pegasus!

Another question - with hand luggage, can I take a hand luggage bag AND a handbag?

Aegean allow 5kgs hand luggage per passenger. Not sure about extra handbag.

To increase your hold luggage from 15 to 20 kgs is £20 per person per sector, ie £40 return.

Try wearing a big coat and fill the pockets. LOL.

Haha thanks luddendenturk. I think we may have to bite the bullet and pay the £40 for one of us. I hope they will let us do it this close to flying.
