Airlines in USA in Chapter 11

Can anyone help me!!! wanting to book flight to US for Xmas 2006. The airline is in Chapter 11....knowing this, am I taking a risk forking out £600 on flights. Plus if I book and pay with my credit card, and anything did happen would I be covered and get my money back.!!! Would the credit card company question the purchase of a ticket which was bought after the date the airline filed for chapter 11

many of the largest companies including several airlines are in chapter 11
this is a legal procedure peculiar to the USA, to stop creditors forclosing on the companies thus allowing them to continue trading whilst they sort themselves out
