Faro to Praia da Oura.....40 Euros return!!!
Went through http://www.albufeira.com and a company called sul travel..
i paid 20 Euros on the way there and 20 on the way back.
was really cheap. cheaper than the quotes i got from other companies including mr sutton..
whilst other people were waiting outside our hotel moaning about there transfers being late ours was 15 mins early!!!!
just if anyone in future is interested, me and my girlfriend found this company http://www.a2btransfers.com and used them to go from FAO TO Praia Rocha and it was great service and the price fantastic, we booked online.
used sul-travel for airport to albufeira and return 50 euro's, excellent mini bus service very pleasant and prompt.booked through http://www.albufeira.com
I am going to Albufeira for the first time in May. I need to arrange transfers and need some advise please. My son has just returned from there and paid 40 euro from the airport to Albufeira for 2
. However, he booked a return transfer with a local travel agent whilst he was there and only paid 8 euro each. Does anyone know of any links to such travel agents or any reputable low cost transfers? I will be very grateful for advise as this will be my first time ever in the Algarve and I want to get it right. I booked my accommodation at the Club Praia Da Oura with Petchy Travel. Has anyone any reviews of this company?
Many Thanks

Hi Carol,
I should imagine that the 8 euro transfer was by bus and not a private transfer. If you're happy with a bus transfer try < http://www.low-cost-transfer.com > Their 2005 leaflet quotes 8 euros p.p. to Albufeira, but, of course, this will involve several drop-offs and take longer than a private transfer. If you want a private transfer try Sul Travel - e-mail Jorge at <geral@sul-travel.com> We used them from the hotel to the airport this week; we were charged 25 euros, but, in their shop window the price is shown as 27.50 euros. They picked us up on time and the minibus was clean and tidy and the driver friendly and polite.
Good luck and have a great holiday.

does anyone know anything about sul travel transfers been quoted good price anyone traveled with this company thanks pat
Thank you very much for that, Sagres. Advise most appreciated
We've recently booked our first ever DIY holiday and are looking for recommendations for transport from Faro to our accomodation in Albufeira. I've been advised in a previous post that getting a taxi from outside the airport may mean paying over the odds so we're ideally looking to pre book something. Can anyone recommend a company that specialises in airport transfers on The Algarve and advise what sort of price would be seen as reasonable. I don't want to get ripped off!
Thanks, Steve
Thanks, Steve
Hi Steve, re taxi transfers. I would have a word with Sagres he has used quite a few different ones. Why dont you send him a private message. Cheers Jayjan
Alan Sutton offers this facility. He charges 35 euros each way for up to 4 people to Albufeira I think. You can contact him on his site.
http://www.ownersinportugal.org/
We've used him several times, and any guests we have staying at our apartment tend to use him. Hes very reliable, lives in Portugal and speaks Portuguese.

steve mcr,
Log on to< http://www.albufeira.com >They have a link on their website where you can enter your transfer requirements which they circulate to several firms who will e-mail you direct with quotations. We found Sul Travel this way at Christmas and paid 25 euros one way. As you're new to d.i.y. you'll probably be a little nervous about self-organised transfers and it may help to know that Sul Travel have an office between the Paraiso hotel and the Modelo supermarket, so, if you want to put your mind at rest before your return to the airport, you can pop in and confirm they have the return booking. I should say that, although we were quoted 25 euros online, the price for Albufeira to Faro in their office window was 27.50, so presumably they give an online discount.
Hope this helps.

Thanks very much for your quick replies. Sagres - I am a little apprehensive with it being our first diy trip so may choose to use Sul Travel as recommended. I'll use the link on albufeira.com and see what comes back. If they're dearer than Alan Sutton I'll get on to him!
Cheers everyone

Just booked with Alan Sutton and if you mention Holiday Truths, he will give the transfer (up to 4 people) for €30 each way.
I have found this to be the cheapest I can get, he is also highly recommended on Holiday Truths.
