Pat, going on other games (sunderland for instance) the tickets may be sold from the town hall.

You probably have already tried this but just in case you haven't

Would it be worth you contacting Celtic FC and seeing if they can help you?

Good luck Pat. I hope you get sorted. :)

Two different tournaments. Sunderland are playing in Albufeira, hence the tickets being sold at the town hall. Sellick and the others are at The Algarve stadium near Faro. Tickets will be available on the day I am sure.

Hello all

First to underline, put in bold and big letters, this is the tournament taking place at the Algarve Stadium. This is the one in the middle of nowhere between Loule and Faro that you often see when landing or taking off at Faro. It was used for Euro 2004.

You might be leaving it a bit late to get tickets.

Algarve Challenge Cup Official website page with all ticket information etc is

http://www.algarvechallengecup.com/ticket_sales.html

and this snipped from another page:

Tickets will be on sale from the 1st of July at The Estadio Algarve Stadium until the 21st July. The official Tickets can also be purchased at The Forum Algarve (Faro shopping mall) at the Information booth also at the main Kiss FM Reception, which is here I think "Kiss Fm Rua do Pacifico, Lotes 25,26 e 27 Cerro Alagoa 8200-166 Albufeira
Tel: 289 587705 Fax: 289 587694"

Fixtures
The fixtures are scheduled as follows:

22nd July 2008:
19.15 KO Guimaraes v. Cardiff City
21.30 KO Celtic v Middlesbrough

24th July 2008:
19.15 KO Guimaraes v. Middlesbrough
21.30 KO Cardiff City v. Celtic

BTW before anyone asks, there are no scheduled buses or trains to get you home afterwards! You will have to make your own travel arrangements.

I am in Lisbon heading north, so I won't be going. Tempting if I was at home.

Any of you people attend this. I attended the last evening when Cardiff beat Celtic.

We are back there with Wales in February ( venue to be confirmed)

Thankfully I had my car with me. As people have stated miles from anywhere.

Portugal v Wales in the Algarve February eh? That could get a few in.

Keep us in touch with date and ko time please.

Sorry may have misled you a bit there. We are due to play Poland in Portugal on February 11th and it was originally billed as "In the Algarve"

Will post details when finalised. Apparently on the Portuguese Football Association website they have Portugal playing in Faro on the same day. We, (Wales) may be shipped up north.

Indeed - Portugal are playing Finland in a friendly on 11.02.09

I have been to most of the northern cities with decent grounds (ie those used for Euro 2004) in fact I am in one them now, Coimbra. It has been pouring down with rain this past 48 hours, has been foggy and cold as well! February up north here can be as nasty as February in Wales, so bring your mac and your woolly socks.

When you know where you will be playing I may be able to throw a few pointers your way.

.... Oh no it damn well can't !!!! ;)

The locals would say it could anyway.

It isn't too keen now I am back in Albufeira.

It stopped raining in Coimbra for only 4 hours on Friday. Otherwise it was 4 days of a continuous deluge. There were some nice pictures of the previous snow in the local papers, mind you that was in Guarda and Braganca etc well up in the mountains.

Good news, well for me anyway, the Wales Poland game is now officially, after a scare of Braga, to be played in VRS de San Antonio. Quite what the football ground there will be like I will rely on someone to tell me.

Vila Real - I went there last March for the final of the Women's International tournament.

It is a non-league stadium and holds only about 3,000 in the single stand. It has a running track around it and they only got round to installing floodlights this summer! I would imagine they will consider installing some temporary seats.

I took some pictures which you can see at

http://thomasallen.spaces.live.com - click on photos and look for the album called Denmark v USA Algarve Women's Cup Final 2008 Wednesday 12 March

The ground is pretty well in the centre of town and is part of a large sports complex.

If I can persuade someone in Albufeira with a car to go there it might make for an interesting evening.

Kick off now confirmed as 5.15p.m.

Nothing to do with football but why is the thread you have started about the Poland Wales game locked as I was going to post the info there as it seemed the obvious place.

Very good question _ perhaps admin could unlock the post referred to as it is clear there is a lot of interest. A 515ko for Wales will enable us to watch that game and leg it back to Albufeira for England's game against Spain which starts at 8pm our time.
