ells bells
glad you had a good holiday. we fly out wed and are very excited now. First question do they do cider on AI. Secondly will we have to get up crack of dawn to get parasols or are there plenty for everyone regardless of what time (within reason) you get to pool.
Is the food as good as the other HV's, oh do they by any chane do melon snapps (like in HV turkey as we got quite addicted to that. Is there a market nearby that we can go to independantly or one we would have to do on organised trip.
I think thats everything I can think of, not too bothered about the size of room as long as its clean as we do not plan to spend much time in there.

Hi Bodster,
No they don't do cider on the AI, not even sure if they sell it. There are a load of pubs down by the triangle that sell it but take plenty of money with you if you are going off site..
You could still get sun beds at about 9.30am when we were leaving, it was a different story when we first arrived but they had a delivery when we where there,
The food is probably as good as it gets on an AI buffet style, we didn't hear one person complain about it while we were there.
and there is a market in Paphos, just get the bus which stops outside the hotel.
Thanks Ells Bells, can't wait now
Cheers Ann

Hi Ells Bells, Glad you had a good holiday. Did you get marreid at the Aliathon? We are getting married there next month and would love to hear how your wedding went
Melanie we got married at the the Paphos Town Hall. There was a huge amount of weddings taking place there thought the reception area was right in front of my room so i had a good view.Where on the complex are you getting married?
Hiya - are the fridges in the room stocked with water and soft drinks? Also, do you get a card at check in to exchange for pool towels or are these provided in the room. Ta
Pool towels are provided in the room when you arrive and to change them you put them in the bath of a morning. In the fridge when we arrived was sachets of coffee and sugar and teabags crackers and jam the only milk was cream, we had no water,as it was late this was brought from he bar at the front of the complex.
So if you want fresh towels for the pool do you have to wait for the cleaners to re-stock?
Returned from Aliathon on 3rd Aug. The hotel itself is lovely. We stayed in the older part which had much more character and felt very 'greek' which I like. The Fishing village was very modern but seemed very nice, however the balconies on these seemed not many of them were in the sun. All in all we had a lovely time, the kids spent nearly all the holidays joining in the wavelength activities and made loads of friends there. The downside to this hotel has to be the evening entertainment it is awful. I have been to other HV's and there is always the bingo thing at about 9pm which I dont mind sitting through to wait for the entertainment to start, but at the Aliathon the entertainment was that bad after the Bingo at 9.15 everyone got up and left til not even half the tables were taken. Kieran, Leanne and Mel worked so hard from E3 but they need to bring in more acts rather than just the same team everynight singing. Would not return to this hotel for this reason.
Cleaners do change the towels and sometimes they dont come till 3pm which is a bad point. Just to let you know i agree with scooby the entertainment of an evening is pretty bad.
i am glad that it is not just me who thought E3 need outside help with there shows they do work very hard but they can not sign. i would like to try another holiday village but worried about E3 i dont want much but nice to chill after a long day working on tan ,
i would say that the complex is very well looked after pool areas cleaned evey night in fishing village area when we there we were asked to do a survey on firstchoice/thomson and got paid 50 euro good days work and going by feed back a lot of people were saying that it was not what they expected they thought that there would be lot more adult activities. and in fishing village friends of our there room was cleaned most days at 4 oclock when you want clean towels for the pool this can cause a problem .
I've got to say I thought the evening entertainment was good, it's great for kids, all of the kids in our party loved it, and as long as the kids are entertained than you know yourself you can chill out. The E3 team worked hard every night and the only act that was the same in the two weeks I was there was the cypriot dancers.
The younger kids seemed to enjoy the entertainment BEFORE the bingo where they danced to all the club songs with the reps, but it was the 'after 9pm' entertainment, most people just got up and left! Dont blame the team they worked so hard I felt really sorry for them when they saw the mass exodus after bingo. The only enjoyable evening we had was when they brought in the comedian/ventriloquist with charlie the monkey. The other comedian (allegedly) the following week was awful.
Sorry if I'm being a bit dim but is it the pool towels that you have to leave in your room to be changed and not the room towels - at all the other HV you just changed them at the pool side when you needed new ones - if it is how do you know what time the cleaner has been around - do you have to just keep going back to the room to check and what do you use in the meantime? Sorry in advance if I've misunderstood.
Yes, the cleaners change the pool towels. We stayed in the older part of the complex, the cleaners used to be around outside before 9am so just asked them to change them which they did. We also went to main reception where the lovely english lady in there said to take them anytime you liked and she would change them for you.
Kyra we fly out wednesday too, can't wait now! we have a 6 year old too who has been counting down the days. Sounds like it should be good, must admit the adult entertainment isn't really a problem for me as I agree with laurababes as long as the kids are enjoying makes it easier for us. Glad you had a good holiday Ellsbells, I think we are all awaiting your review with baited breath....
