http://www.prestigetoursspain.com for a private transfer rather than a taxi, same service but much cheaper.
Sue
You would be cheaper using Sue
I'm travelling to Benidorm on the 18th of June for a Hens party, there are 15 of us and I am looking to book transafers from Alicante airport. I have looked at Viajes Alameda (Shuttle Direct) and am wondering where we will be dropped off if I book this transfer with them? we are booked to stay in the Don Salva apartments. Does this service just drop you off at a local bus stop or will they drop you at your accomadation ? Also arrangements for coming back etc. Has any one used this service and is it reliable. Finally is it a particular place marked or bus stop when you come out of the airport on arrival ?
I would really appreciate any info on this
Thanks
Try Travel Republic there about the cheapest and you will be dropped off at your destination or as close to it as possible. They sometimes use Shuttle direct as well as others. With Shuttle direct as well as most others as you come out of Terminal one all the desks are clearly marked at the exit and they will direct you to the stops there situated just outside of the building. Enjoy your hols girls. As for returns some text you or you have to phone the office the day before you leave for a estimated time of pick up.
I was going to suggest Travel Republic as well. We booked out transfers with them when we stayed in the Calypso the other year. They dropped us off outside of the hotel
ps i`m over in the 16th june , so if any of you 15 lassies want to buy me a drink , feel free .
Thanks for the responses, we're travelling from Dublin and travel republic don't seem to have Irish airports on their departing from drop down list. Hopefully the one I found drops us to the apartments
But you are getting picked up from alicante arnt you? You just put that in nothing to do with what airport you are flying from.
I'll do that thanks for all your help
hi clondag there is nothing wrong with shuttle direct have used them a few times and yes they drop you off at your hotel and then on the way back you phone a number they give you (day before you depart) and they will tell you what time they will pick you up. there desk is on the right hand side as you are about to leave airport they will tell you everything you need to know and the lady is english by the way me and 2 mates are also commin out on the 18th june lads holiday stayin for 3 days and i am useing shuttle direct
we used Shuttle Direct last week for the first time after seing them recormended on here we had a mini bus to ourself going out and a coach with one other couple coming back, droppod outside our hotel (Calypso)and picked up within a minute of the stated time, Great
Shuttledirect always been Spot On when ive used them!
I would also recommend shuttle direct, used a few times with no problems.
I just looked at the price of a hire car this August and I could buy the old heap they gave me last year cheaper, so I'm not bothering. (Apparently the hire companies in Spain are not buying any new stock because of the recession, so they are just marking up the prices on last year's old bangers during peak months to make up for the shortfall in business!)
So I fancy giving the bus a try out, at least to get to Benidorm, I'll get a taxi back!
Hi Colin ... johnny m's post on the previous page may help, and links on page 1 of this topic will lead you to bus company timetables.
PS (since I'm too lazy to go right through this thread) can anyone who has used the service answer a few queries.
Is it a pay the driver service? The Alsa site seems to let me book but it seems to be for a specific time and I don't fancy booking a 12:00 bus and being stood at the airport carousel waiting for luggage when that particular bus leaves. I've had that problem with Virgin trains, not to be repeated!
Does the bus go to the bus station and then on to Avd. Europa or are there two separate buses, one to each place? Seems a bit risky to be sat on board at the bus station while people empty all the cases out from underneath, although I suppose that's true of any transfer.
Is it very busy? I don't fancy having to wait an hour for another one if I can't get on the first, I'd rather get a taxi if that's very likely.
Why not book Shuttledirect Colin, you've then got transfers at about the same price of the Bus and you'll be dropped off and picked up at your accomodation!
Taggy, my accommodation is very close to the Avd. Europa drop off point so I don't fancy the tour of Benidorm (and the bus is only 8 euros).
I've not used the bus, but i think you stay on the same Bus at the terminus. I might be wrong but i think you can pay on the Bus departing the Airport, but you have to purchase a ticket before getting on the Bus for the return. I think i read that somewhere, hopefully a Bus user will see this thread shortly!
Best Regards - Taggy
You can pay on the bus at the airport. You will need a ticket for the return journey.
