Still a few people using that area a few weeks back, but not as many as usual!

There were a few people smoking there 2 weeks ago but it's not an official designated smoking area. It's at gate 21 but you run the risk of getting in to bother, I did hear that someone had their passport confiscated and missed their flight because of having a sly fag but I don't know if it's true.

They call it "Gate 11" but that gate does not actually exist ( twilight zone effect lol ). People do still smoke here ... even some of the airport workers.

I'll have a look when I'm there on Thursday and let you know.

Ooops, I thought it was gate 21 not 11. It's just passed the VIP lounge, follow your nose. :rofl

urgent going out tomorrow, been let down boy our estate agent (going off them big time now) need to get from alicante to villa martin or torrevieja, thinking the bus is cheaper any ideas as to how much a taxi might cost and how far is it ken

There is no direct bus from the airport to Villamartin. You would need a combination of at least 3 buses.
You would have to go first to the bus station in Alicante city (north) to then get another bus to Torrevieja and bejond (south). This would be an awkward journey but only cost a few Euro. Buses from Alicante to Torrevieja run every 2 hours and cost 4 Euro, (I think).
From Torrevieja to Villamartin is another 10 kilometres and I am unsure how often buses use that route.

A taxi will be about 50 Euro for the 50 kilometre journey. Although more expensive, that would be my choice.

Hi...we booked a transfer through Travel Republic, only cost us 11 euros to Benidorm. :tup

This is a warning for customers of Resorthoppa. On Friday we were picked up from Benidorm at 8.30am
for a 1 oclock flight. This was far too early. Other customers with flight at same time were picked up at 10 oclock which was much more reasonable.

Unless you love sitting around airports for hours I would seriously think twice about booking them. I know their prices are good but money isnt everything.

Billy I will never use or recommend Resorthoppa again. Years ago they did the same thing with my mother in law ... thay were going to pick her up 4 hours b4 she needed to be at the airport. She ended up getting a taxi because they were adamant that she WOULD get that transfer and would not be offered another. The lady on the phone was so rude.

More recently my brothers and a friend booked through a travel agent and their transfer agent was Resorthoppa. I phoned up to confirm their transfer back to 1st be told that the coach did not pick up in that area ( they were at this end of La Cala ) and requested they make it into a major hotel in Benidorm... even though they were dropped off within a 150 metres of their hotel. And then to be told their transfer was another month away ( I phoned the day before their transfer was due home). I informed her that they had spoke to the travel agent already who said he would sort the problem out. Granted I agree this was the travel agents fault if he did not get in touch with Resorthoppa, but the lady on the phone refused to help us in any way saying there was nothing they could do except book them another transfer at extra cost ... ummm I think not. After spending about 45 minutes on my mobile phone with them trying to get the transfer changed ... my brothers ended up getting the Benidorm bus.

I agree with Billjam55 ... do NOT use Resorthoppa!!

For a Private Transfer with no other drop offs i use http://prestigetoursspain.com/ best service ive had, and David is English fully licensed and the service is spot on. For a Shared transfer i use shuttledirect, they are a little dearer than resorthopper, but ive never been let down by them. Resorthopper seem to be getting their act together a bit better of recent times, listening to the feedback ive heard, however there still does seem to be a number of complaints about their service. Maybe thats due in part to the numbers of people they transport, cant say myself as ive never used them.

I too use shuttledirect when I travel alone, well worth paying a little bit more.

I would never use Resorthoppa having heard too many horror stories.

And yes for a private transfers when we go as a family I always use prestige tours, David is 1st class.

I alway's use prestige tours.
I would not even think about using anybody else.
I have used many private transfer companies and Prestige is without a doubt the best.

You have obviously been one of the lucky ones and I'm sure plenty of people will have the same story as you but when you receive shocking service then it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
