no probs briar it was just that I thought sarlee was getting a hand smack and not assisstance :( (didnt want to upset the management.)
The sister hotel is called the RIVIERA and is a bit more upmarket but not as best placed in my opinion.

Never saw any ref to Carribean Village when I was there in March 04 or in any of the brochures I had looked at prior to booking :?

Perhaps some of the recent guests can enlighten us :)

Hi SuperTed,

We tried the Abou Sofiane at the end of October last year, with two teenage girls - 13 and 15.

The Abou Sofiane is a 3 star hotel, the rooms are 'tired' but adequate and clean. The food is, IMHO, far from the best and the dining room is not great, although the 'A La Carte' Tunisian restaurant at the Abou Sofiane and the 'Italian' restautant, at the sister hotel the Riviera (they normally provide one meal at each) were both fine.

The pool facilities are fine, and the girls loved it (the annimation team work hard for the youngsters) and the beach is very good, with many activities available. There are poolside drinks available and snacks from lunch to about tea time.

The hotel bars, in the evening, are pretty poor. Drinks are 'local' and very weak (even when they taste like the real thing). Service is slow - best to tip early in your visit and keep feeding small amounts. The service does improve!

The Port is a short taxi ride or a 20 minute stroll. Some people advocate walking along the beach, but we found the road (with good footpaths) to be better - and no soft sand!

There are plenty of shops and restaurants at the Port (slightly inflated prices, but not too bad) which we found to be quaint and picturesque.

In short, we found the Abou Sofiane to be absolutely ideal for a one week break for some sun in October. The girls loved it. I don't think I would have enjoyed a second week - a better class hotel, on a B&B only basis, with good food and evening entertainment available if required, would have been preferred.

hi we stayed at the Riviera over xmas and new year. thought it was in a great position for the marina of PEK and laso not to far from sousse. the abou ( sister hotel) has a disco until 2am every morning that Riviera customers were able to use as part of their all inclusive. we preferred the riviera as it was more 'upmarket' but both hotels seemed nice, very impressed with the efforts of all staff to ensure we had a great time. if you do go you must try the italian restaurant on site.... its superb :D feel free to ask me any questions and i will try to answer
