Alpha Rooms - problem?

I've used Alpharooms.com in the past with no problems, however today, typical, I am having a major one with trying to book a hotel for next week.

I got a message back saying that they could not confirm my booking, and it might take 48 hours before the can. My account hasn't been charged, and won't be until confirmation, but 48 hours is a long time, when you need to get a hotel booked for next week, and I'm afraid if I don't get this hotel, there'll be nothing decent left. Has this happened to anyone else before? If it did, was the booking eventually taken by alpharooms?

Have you checked http://www.travelrepublic .co.uk or their partner http://www.greatlatedeals.co.uk the latter being sometimes cheaper.they usually confirm quickly.

Thanks MaryB, your right, that last website is cheaper!! I'm going to get onto Alpharooms, as I just feel it's too much of a risk, waiting 48 hrs for confirmation, when the flights are booked for next week.

i allways book via the solmelia website, either by phone which is free or on the website, you can get instant conformation and also cancel your booking with only twenty four hours notice and without charge, and they give a price guarentee to have the cheapest rates for sol and melia hotels
