If I was you... I would get the phone no. also of the Alva Apts.. and phone them the week before you go to request the room as that's usually when the receptionist is planning out who's going in what room... but also ask your tour op too if you can request... top floor sea view... just to make sure...
Booked today for the 19th June can't wait to go now. could only ask the travel agent for high floor and pool view. so i will ring the alva before we go.
Have you been to Protaras before, toni?
yes Cromwell we stayed at the Sandra apartments last year not far from the Alva.
I've stayed at the Alva apartments twice- they are great. Close to the bars, resturants, a one minute walk to the beach. the rooms are basic, but very clean, and the pool is lovely.
Hi Toni! Are the Sandra Apts the ones about a 10minute stroll to the beginning of the "strip", near the Sphinx Bar?
Hi Cromwell, no the Sandra apartments are just behind the Perla Blu resturant
Hi toni, got back from the Alva about 2 weeks ago we've travelled too many different places over the years and i have got to say this holiday was one of the best we have ever had. The location of the Alva could not be better 2 to 3 minutes stroll to the beach, excellent food at the parko resturant, taxi rank next door and also bars and resturants on your doorstep. We arrived at 2.00am in the morning and was left a welcome pack of bread coffee tea milk etc whilst at the time we thought what a lovely thought you,re charged 8 cyp for this if you do not return to reception by the next day, little did we know that there is a 24 hour supermarket right next door (to your left beside taxi rank) that you will get your essentials far far cheaper. As far as the apartments go could not fault them ,cleaned so much you could eat your dinner of the floor, staff so friendly, no problems getting a sunbed round pool they have a policy that you cannot reserve them if anybody tries to do so the towels are taken by the staff and left at reception, all I can say is enjoy so jealous as we are not going away next year DIY to do etc !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the replys . does anyone know what the view is like if you dont get sea view or pool view? and also whats in the kitchen do you get a toaster etc.? thanks Toni
Hi Toni , you get a kettle and toaster and most utensils to cook a basic meal, you can see the sea from nearly all the apartments obviously some views better than others, there are 2 blocks to the alva the one where the reception is housed one side is pool view the other size is overlooking a tennis court and the supermarket I would,nt recommend the tennis court view, the amusment arcade and the love boat are very near by and can be quite noisy till about 2.00am so if you fancy a early night that might be a problem. The other block is where we stayed our apartment was on the 1st floor overlooking the pool and we had a sea view, the other side overlooks the mini golf and a few resturants . like other people have said I would try and call them and request a 4th floor apartment at the front as these had fantastic sea views I did email them myself and ask for one but I think I did it to early ,try calling them the week before you go. If theres anything you need to know don't hesitate to ask Cheers Footie chick

I can confirm that there are safety deposit boxes in the apartments (bottom of the wardrobe to be precise!). Their email address as of last May was.... alva@cylink.com.cy you could give that a try.
We a party of 8 are off to The alva in August, can't wait, this is our 3rd time at the Alva. We would love to have the same rooms as before, can any one advise when the best time would be to phone and ask for specific
rooms, if available. We had a great time last time, cant wait to have the mousaka in cheers, or the Stifado in one of the restuarants we always used to go to. bring it on, Last time the kids were smaller, 7,9,9,11, this titime they are 14,16,16,18, and well the adults are all 13
