I was looking for a bargain for a friend of mine (Single mum, with 2 kids), who was on a VERY tight budget. I posted messages in about 5 different forums to see if anybody could help me get a good deal. Within 12 hours of me posting, I had received loads of replies. Some very helpful people had taken lots of time to advise us of some fantastic prices for seperate flights and hotels. All I can say to those people is THANK YOU. You will make a single mum and 2 kids very happy.
IF ANYBODY ELSE IS ON A TIGHT BUDGET, READ THIS.
BEFORE, you book anything, post a message in the forums asking for assistance from other people. I guarantee, within 24 hours with the help of the peeps on here you will have managed to slash the coct of a holiday.
For instance, we were advised that it was a lot cheaper to fly from Blackpool than it was to fly from Liverpool, even though they are the same distance away from our house. We didn't even know there was an airport at Blackpool!

Yes Blackpool has been expanding year by year and I try to use it now and it is nearer to me than any other airport. Ryanair, Jet2 and Thomson (in winter) are some of the big names that now fly from there. Karen
Jet2 and Ryanair have both pulled out of some operations from Blackpool as of last week 
Jet2 ends flights from Blackpool to Prague and Amsterdam, citing "operational reasons" as to why the routes have ended. Routes will end on June 3 and passengers with tickets would be offered a refund.
Ryaniar has said that it will discontinue its twice daily flights between Blackpool and London Stansted from June 3 too because of weak demand.

Where did you find this out as they are still advertising flights and still flying today. Karen
Miss Chief I am glad you edited your original post as your first statement made it appear that they had stopped all flights. I knew about the ones you now mention but it was very misleading of you to write that they had pulled out of operations. This could have caused a great deal of panic for a few people including me. Karen
I didn't say they'd pulled all operations, I said "some" I just happened to read last week that 2 airlines in the same week had pulled flights from Blackpool 
The same article which can be viewed on the internet also hinted that both airlines may well reduce more flights in the coming 12 months due to 2 reasons......a lack of customers and the fact Blackpool didn't get the Super Casino they were hoping for, thus meaning not quite the amount of customers they had hoped for in the future.
