Hi all,
I'm a lucky girl today. I got my Visa back from Birmingham. Posted it just under 2 weeks ago. They gave me a 6 month Visa.
I have read in a previous post that Edinburgh asked for an additional £2:00, did you send £30:00 per Visa application.
Thanks
Dave
Just went home for lunch and there on the mat were my visas!!!!!! I live in South Wales and posted them to Birmingham on 9th August thinking or bust! I added an extra £2 for postal as I thought the less there was for them to find something wrong the better. Low and behold they are now in the passports and back in the safe ready for November.
I was thinking of trying to get everything correct but you are right and I am sure they wont refuse my extra £1:00 (X4) !!
cheers Lyn x
friend going to Liverpool on Saturday for visa and just wondering what is best time to get there ?

It opens at 9:30, fnishes at 4pm with an hours break for lunch. Never been before so I'm not sure what time people will be arriving.

I bet your relieved now you got your visas back ok.
I also live in South Wales but can't apply for mine until beginning of October, but am going to chance posting them. Birmingham seems to be issuing them for this area. Keeping my fingers crossed
When applying for visas by post to Birmingham for a married couple, can you send both passports together and enclose a single special recorded delivery envelope for their return or does each one have to be dealt with separately on an individual basis?.
Just send them together with 1 reply envelope - no problem
to reiterate, the address is :- 445 kenton road, kenton harrow, middlesex. HA3 OXY
Send £30 for each visa required & £10 handling charge for each visa.
hope this will clarify things. BOB

got in queue about 8-55 it opened about 9-30 was about 60th in the queue but were out by 10-10 spent enjoyable day in Birmingham for lunch before had to return back to the consulate in the Jewellry quarter for 3pm and was there 5 mins this time and collected them.
Quite a long day but if you have the time make the most of it and it does not take long
The information I received from Puja Travel today, slightly contradicts yours. I was told the same thing as Bob the bus in that the processing fee for each visa is £10 and not £20 with the visa fee on top.
I think what I will do is before I send off my application forms to them, I will telephone them to confirm whether it is £10 or £20 each.
Sheila.
Just thought I would let everyone know, I have just been on the Birmingham Embassy website and there is a notice stating that they will no longer be issuing postal visas as from Monday 10th September, they have a list of travel agents that will handle visa applications and the furthest north is Doncaster. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
