the visa lasts for 6 months. Just make very sure you have downloaded the visa application from the London embassy and doublecheck you have filled it in correctly :D
PS I am sending hubby down to Edinburgh next week for our visas

I sent off my passports to Puja Travel, mainly because, I didn't want the worry of will the embassy issue a postal application, or won't they.

I received a phone call from Puja Travel this morning, to tell me that my passports had arrived, and to ask me if I required there help in obtaining air flights or accommodation, I told them that this had been booked months ago, but she still asked me the dates of my travel, so she could compare the cost, there costs were 325.00 pounds more per person than I had already booked. And even going on the relevant fight sites now, I still could knock 300 or so off there costs.

It may be that every one who is going to use the agencies will get one of these phone calls.

They won't miss this trick.

Hi Tilly 1

Tomitma,

I am sending my visa applications off to Puja Travel tomorrow morning.

I just called them to confirm what to send and was told that I have to send them a special delivery prepaid return envelope. This is no problem as I do that anyway with the HCI, but as they are earning £40 from two applications, you would have thought they could pay the £4.25 (that is what it cost last time) return postage.

They said a cheque for £100 made payable to Puja Travel Ltd is acceptable. That is good as I don't have to pay for the tax on the postal orders.

I am getting so stressed about this holiday that I cannot think straight. For example, the question about occupation; I gave up work two months ago to spend more time at home but I will be getting a part time job. Do you think if I put housewife on the form it will be ok?

Sheila.

I would just put "retired". I put this on the form for my husband who is in a similar situation. I don't think they check up on anything much so I wouldn't worry about it.

I've just read that Birmingham are discontinuing the service from 10th September.

Do you think this means that applications received before then will still be issued?

Just not sure whether to send application off tomorrow or wait for a visa surgery?

not sure Helen. If you have plenty of time I would chance sending it tomorrow.

We are travelling on 10th December for the 1st time - i must admit i didn't realise it would be this much hassle! Is it normally okay to put four passports in the same envelope? They will all be returned to the same address - if they issue them that is!

Hi all I have sent my visa applications to Puja Travel, my son has sent his to them too seems they will be very busy as all the other recomended agents have not replied to my emails.
I must admit it has put a dampner on my first visit to goa all this visa problem.
Hopefully I can now get down to the enjoyment and anticipation of the trip.
We are a family of 6 going 15th of Decmber for 2 weeks, :? thinks I should post this elsewhere on the site sorry if I have made a mistake posting our dates.

I've just come off the phone to hci in edinburgh . have been informed that UNLESS a person lives in Scotland they won't give visa's to you , be that by postal application or in person.
Have also phoned Puja Travel and they are very helpful , please note new address though :-

PUJA TRAVEL
445, KENTON ROAD,
KENTON,
HARROW,
MIDDLESEX,
HA3 - 0XY

Phone number is still the same. = 0208 - 931 - 2340

they charge £ 20 per application + the £30 visa fee total = £50 pp
also put in a sae preferably recorded or registered for the return of the passports. also allow 2 to 3 weeks for processing etc etc'

hope this helps someone out.

It was either go on 8th sept or next surgery was 22nd december but we fly out on 27th dec so we thought that was leaving it too late. Not happy about not being able to get poastal visas anymore, but at the end of the day we love GOA,we start saving as soon as we get back in january to go back in dec, will miss xmas day there this year, but 2days later we will be in heaven for 28days.
