I have just had a look of a map showing location of the hotels in Aruba, i was looking at tne tamarajin, can you walk on the beach up as far as palm and eagle beach, or is it too far.

I arrived back from the tamarijn in Aruba about 3 weeks ago, and I'm already thinking of going back in 2011. Has anyone been in September before? I'd like to know the weather will be ok at that time. Thanks for any replies (if I get any!).

It is out of the hurricane belt so you should be OK.

Hi Wally,

I am off to the Tamarijn tomorrow and will find out about the weather in September.

From what I gather Aruba's rainy season is November to March (ie the opposite of the rest of the Caribbean), so I'm sure September would be fine.

Thanks Crockett. You'll love it at the tam!

Hi,

Returned from the Tam yesterday and a lovely holiday had by all.

Had a couple of showers the first two nights, and a hurrendous thunder storm on the Thursday of our second week ...... was amazing to watch and didn't dampen our spirits.

Just returned from the Tam and had a terrific time.

Wally - apparently the weather is fine in Septmeber and similar to what we had during our 2 weeks. We had a couple of downpours but overall it was very hot and sunny. Not as much wind as I'd expected, but the clothes peg tip was handy for keeping your towel on the lounger !

Pat - glad you enjoyed your stay, it's a lovely hotel isn't it. Did you end up doing Black Pearl or Mi Dushi ? We did Black Pearl and thought it was superb.

Hi Crockett,

Pleased to hear that you had a good time.

To be quite honest, the only trip we went on was the catermaran trip, which we enjoyed. Husband and son also did the snuba diving, hired out a fishing boat with skipper for half a day along with a couple of people we met on holiday, and went on the jet skis twice. I fully intend to go on a few trips prior to going there, but found it hard to cope with the humidity ....... hence only went on the catermaran trip as a family, and to the flee market on the Sunday.

Pat - I'm sorry you suffered with the humidity. I didn't find it that bad, but the day before we left it was building up a bit. There was a huge downpour and it was fine again.

Crockett - sounds like you had an amazing holiday, as we did. I've already booked to go there next September!! Who did you book the blacknpeael with? I'd like to do that trip next time. I assume it wasn't with De Palm, as I'd have seen it. How did you find the food etc? I look forward to reading your review.

Well done booking again, I'm sure we'll be back again in the future it's a lovely island and great hotel.

Black Pearl I booked direct before we left on their http://www.aruba-sailing.com website. Lovely boat, lots of space and friendly crew, I can see why they're the No. 1 trip on Tripadvisor.

Food at Tam/Divi was great, we liked Red Parrot best but the Sand Piper was a close second and had terrific fillet steak. I didn't even know about it until another guest mentioned it.
No real gripes, though would have been nice to have a drink out of a glass in the evening.

Review to follow soon !

Ditto Crockett ...... we only found out about the Sand Piper the day before we came home.

Wally07,

Out of curiousity (and home you don't mind me asking) but what price are you paying for next year at the Tam? I had a quick look on First Choice and the price was coming in at £1100 more for next year (approx £5800 for 2 adults 1 child)

Have been looking nearer to home for next year (Egypt AGAIN! or Turkey) but 5* all inclusive is coming up between £4700-£5100, and am not prepared to pay that dor somewhere near to home when Aruba is coming up not much dearer.

Although I did struggle a bit with the humidty, my husband and son want to go back, sp am contemplating it LOL!

I'm gutted!! I didn't even hear about sandpiper!!! I loved red parrot. Of course I don't mind you asking pat. We've booked for 2, and it's about 1610 each. I think its gone up by about £30 each from the last time we booked. Maybe they haven't given you free child places? Sounds alot to be paying 5k plus for 2 + child. I'm do glad we've rebooked. I can barely remember our trip. Strange how quickly you get back into work. Total price we're paying is £3200. It's through first choice. What time of year are you looking? We're going in September, so just after the summer hols.

Glad to hear everyone had a great holiday at the Tam. Where is the Sandpiper by the way? I have been twice and think I have missed out :rofl I thought it was the bar next to the beach at the Divi :que

Pat, I have noticed a big increase with FC as well! On our previous visits we travelled as 2 adults and 2 children, 16 and under. I think we paid about £4200 both times. I checked for next year for 2 adults and 1 child and it is coming in at £4466! (It come up at over £5000 last week but that must have been a mistake). This is still a huge increase considering we are travelling as a party of 3 instead of 4.

Oh well, back to the drawing board..............

Hi Wally07,

Wow!! that's a big difference in price. The price I got was from First Choice web site, but that is including Premium Upgrade, although don't think I would bother with Premium again, would probably just book Economy and book extra legroom.

Hi Starry,

Yes, the Sand Piper is the one between the Tam and the Divi. The eating area wasn't very big ..... probably about 8/10 tables (if that)

Hi again Wally07,

Just had another look on FC web site for prices. Flying out on 6 Sept from Gatwick 2 Adults 1 Child is coming in at £4108 not including extra legroom (which would probably be about another £240 on top) If going Premium it would put another (£960 0n top!)

Flying out on 30th Sept (slightly cheaper) at £4065. The child price works out at roughly £704 cheaper than the adult price. Obviously accommodation/food is free but flight isn't.

Hi Starry,

The price of £5000 last week was probably correct at the time. The prices on the web fluctuate up and down all the time ..... you just have to keep checking, and hope that you hit on the right price at the right time LOL!

Hi Wally and Starry,

Just checked FC web site again, and as I said the prices seem to fluctuate all the time.........

Departing 30 Aug 11 ....... Earlier this afternoon was showing at £4065, 6pm ........ down to £4047 and 6.55pm now showing at £4044!! There again, the prices could go back up.

We haven't booked premium seating, but las time we got it a couple of weeks for we went. It was only £150 each then. I think if you book it early, it's about £350 each. But obviously, we might lose the opportunity to do it if they sell out.

Hi Wally,

We booked the Premium back in January when we booked the holiday, and paid £210 each, and at the moment it is £300 each. Probably would get it cheaper if left to nearer the date, but as you say it's a chance you take.
