Have just returned from Rhodes staying at Anixis apartments in between Ixia and Trianda about 800 metres from Atlantica Princess. This hotel is huge and very busy (sorry but we like the quiet life). However, well situated on the beach (shingle). Ixia is about 15 minutes walk away from the hotel in one direction and Trianda about the same distance the other. I believe this hotel can be a mixture of all inclusive, half board and self catering. Excellent restaurants close by and a few small shops nearby. Main shops around 10 mins walk away. This seems to be a very lively hotel with lots of noise coming from it. We spoke to people who had stayed there and they did not leave the hotel all holiday, this was a great shame because the local restuarants and bars are of a very high quality.
hi there, we are just about to book holiday in rhodes, atlantica princess hotel in october. anyone been in october ?? is it hot, is it as busy ? is there local water sports or scuba diving and is that expensive ? is there free sports activities with hotel. also the big question, will be taking a 7 month old baby, can i buy our cow & gate milk over there or will i have to take it with us. any info would be really helpful .
Any info regarding daytime entertainment & evening too would be great.
Anyone got any photos?
Nickie
Yes it will be a bit quieter in October (particularly towards the end of the month) and temperatures, generally, are pretty good but Ixia is on the breezier side of the island so it might be worth taking a light jacket for the evenings. As the sea is a bit choppier on this side the only watersports i remember seeing on Ixia beach was jetskis for hire but plenty of watersports (skiing, ringos, etc. on the east coast). You can go scuba diving on the island - Waterhoppers are excellent. Either ask your rep or enquire directly at Mandraki Harbour and they may even do free trial dives in your hotel swimming pool.
Local supermarkets tend to be small tourist shops so i don't know if you'll get Cow & Gate in your resort, you should be able to get it in Rhodes Town or at one of the larger supermarkets on the island but i think it would be easier to take it with you.
There's a few more pics of your hotel and information on facilities, etc at http://www.atlanticahotels.com - you've picked a great hotel so enjoy your holidays!
1, Does the hotel include pool towels for bathing?
2, Do the rooms have irons in them?
3, We have requested the main block. As we are the wedding couple will we be guaranteed the 2 floor rooms that some people have mentioned. We have paid for a family room.
Thanks

Just out of interest where did you have your wedding reception and what is the average costs?
Many thanks
we asked about one in the hotel but it was only from the buffet, which everyone uses, and my son didn't want that, and we were recommended the knights of olde, and didn't regret it.
anything else just ask

Hi there goin to atlantica princess for a wedding in 2006 and just wondered if anyone else can tell me how they transported dresses and stuff to rhode
hi lorna,
have spoken with my daughter in law, they packed the mens suits at the bottom of the case, well trousers and waistcoats which there were four, and the brides dress on top facing downwards(the boned part) but she says make sure the case is as full as possible, as the case was bowed inwards on arrival, even tho it was taped up fragile, fortunatley there was no damage done, we think it could have been cabin pressure, but who knows !

any one used the Atlantica princess hotel run kids club, if so how does it compare to a Tour Operaters kids club eg first choice , Thomsons, etc.
My husband and I have just had our two week holiday at the Ixian Grand transfered to the Atlantica Princess, due to some rubbish about overbooking. We have no children and didn't really want to go to 'family' hotel and the Ixian did seem to be adult orientated. We go in two weeks, which is still in term time, but could someone please advise if this is a kid crazy hotel or will we get some peace around the pool? Any feedback would be much appreciated.
so have we - something odd going on at the Ixian Grand. Can't get hold of anyone at First Choice to get an answer. Any help appreciated
I have read recently that the animation team were changed recently as they were not very good, can anybody tell me whether the new team are better, I have a 15 year old boy who needs lots of things going on, not good if daytime/night time ent. are not good.
You get a card on arrival which you give in for towels for the sunbeds, and these can be changed every three days FOC.
Hope this helps. Have a good holiday
Thanks for the reply. I hope we do have a good holiday, with a 15 year old, lets hope he enjoys himself, or we might not!
Evening time we walked up to Trianda, in about 15 minutes, with Aklionis sports bar, and several other Tavernas with music. Ixia was about the same distance in the opposite direction with much the same. Otherwise it's a taxi ride into Rhodes town, 9 eoros in and 8 euros back. Never did work that one out
