Hi All..Ive bought an old avondale sandmartin this year and cant wait to try it out...it is in great condition considering how old it is , woodwork ect inside hasnt even got wear and tear scratches. It is only a 2 berth and at least 5 of us will be wanting to go together, so I decided to buy an awning. I thought it would be simple...after weeks trawling the internet and picking anyones brain I could I finally found one that fitted...the only one that would fit...as long as I use chocks to raise the caravan up about 3 or 4 inches.(the old caravans are lower and have more of a curved top) The one I found was a 9ft long porch awning which came with a 1 tall annex as a package and the option to buy a package with 2 tall annexes , plus you could buy annexes seperate. Great stuff I said untill I tried to buy one with 2 annexes . It turned out the only awning that would do me had been discontinued, had been on special offer , and only limited stocks remained. I finally found a stockist who had a blue one with one annex and a burgundy with one annex which had been used once for a show, They didnt have any extra annexes for sale either....not to be beaten I managed to convince the shop to sell me the burgundy one with 1 annex, and the annex off the blue one. I have been chaffing at the bit to get on a site and try it out but the weather has been bad and the fields where I wont have an audience are too muddy.
IF you see a caravan with one blue and one burgandy annex come say hello. I will be so chuffed that I had managed to pull it off in the end
ps. some awnings quote size as height from ground to awning rail in cms or inches as mine did
