Just back from a 3 night break in Can Pastilla.
Couldnt believe how much of the resort was closed.
Weather was a mixed bag which is to be expected. Arrived and it was fairly sunny and mild, next day was stormy and very windy and a number of boats were sunk in the harbour, and the next was Sunny and warm.
To its credit, the resort dusted itself down after the storm and began clearing up straight away.
The good thing about Can Pastilla is that you can easily get into Palma, which was open for business as usual, so next time will simply book and stay in Palma as we have done in the past.
We found it very cosmopolitan, with lots of Dutch and German people, and a minority of people from the UK, but there were loads of restaurants and bars to choose from, and the little train brought you up to Arenal if you wanted somewhere a bit livelier, not that we did.
The fact that it was so handy to Palma for shopping and sightseeing was a major factor in our choice, and also it only took us 5 minutes to get to the airport for an early morning flight, which was a big plus!
Perhaps my post reads as all doom and gloom but it wasnt meant to.
All 5 so called grown ups and had a great 3 day break. Ok the weather wasnt as good as last December, but you take a chance at this time of the year.
We celebrated a birthday, and that was on the day the sun shone so that was lovely.
We also enjoyed fantastic flights with EasyJet. Going out bang on time and back half an hour early on the return, and as you say the transfers from the airport are a doddle.

Can Pastilla is in an excellent location for a quick break. We went in September and it was heaven for travel time. Took us 15 mins to reach our local airport, short flight, then about 10/15mins short hop from Palma airport.
I stayed at the EL CID in 81 and havent been back since there are 4 of us 2 adults and 2 kids aged 8 and 6 also are there any good all incl in the area?
Thanks
Rob
We stayed at the Hotel Brasillia Playa - booked direct with them:-
We have booked to go to the Hotel Alexandra Can Pastilla, the reveiws for this hotel are pretty good and the location looks OK
Hi,
I stayed at the brazillia in june and I can recommend it and the resort and it`s is so close to the airport.
Is the Brasilia close to the harbour area Lessie I've not been to the resort before and know very little about it. I've been on the Brasilias website and it looks great! I sent an email asking what single room supplements they charge, and they said they dont have single rooms but wont charge a supplement for single occupancy of a double! Thats great...and so rare these days. Also because i told them i like to eat out in Spanish Restaurants they said they are quite a few in the resort and they would recommend ones to me they seem very helpful!
We are going to C`an Pastilla end of Feb. for 14nts. Torn between the Alex and the Anfora. Any tips?
my friend just come back from anfora and she said it wasnt very nice we are looking at the helios that looks good and prices are not bad
The rooms we had were OK. One was Sea facing and that was excellent the other 2 were to the side but still had partial sea views views. The Bar has a lovely view out to the bay and is a good spot for people watching. Location is excellent. Just a 5 minute taxiride from the airport, and a short walk gets you to the bus stop for the Bus into Palma.
No Pool, although I am sure I read that you can use the Pool at their sister Hotel the Amfora Beach, but we didnt see it.

Well I`ve read all the reviews I can find, and it looks like the Alexandra for us....
I have stayed at the Alexandra before and have booked again for June this year. You don't get many English at the hotel but the food was excellent last time, and the hotel is right on the beach.
That's just what we wanted to here
