Do you have any recommnedations for where to get good babi gulung?
yes it is good to try other places. We had been to Bali before but combined it with KL which was new to us. Geri- we are to India in 7 weeks and Hong Kong and Bangkok over New Year. Looking at new destinations in the Far East for next summer but not sure where yet Cal Horn- you'll have a great time!
Cafe Wayan is a great place for duck dishes as well, and nice doughy (i.e. bread stuff) breakfasts.
Sam has already answered but have to say we had the duck but not the pig.
Sounds fab- are they in Sanur?
Ubud. Can't recommend anything in Sanur as don't know it that well.
I must admit I always thought I'd be bored in Bali - for some reason I had it pegged as being very quiet with lovely beaches and not much to do but now, thanks to this, it's somewhere I'll certainly be adding to my (ever increasing!!) list of places to visit.
Funnily enough I always thought Bali was a place with gorgeous beaches. Now, I would go as far to say that if you are looking for prisitine beaches only, you should give Bali a miss. But the thing that is great about their beaches is that the locals share their beaches with you.
some photos now in the
Great photos Fiona. Ubud looks interesting and your hotel looks lovely.

he does not have internet but does use internet cafes so may not reply straight away. We actually just phoned him when we were over there

We learned more from him about day to day life than we did from Waka landcruise. He will not push anything and if you want to be taken to any craft shops he stays outside in his car. The only problem I had was having to ask him to repeat things sometimes as his English is not perfect(but it is good!)I would def look at booking with him next time.
I'm sure others have recommendations as well.
