I am not sure where your hotel is but Baga to calangute is 5 to 10 min walk,
Wicked - it was hard to tell on the map, we actually wanted somewhere about 10 mins out the way of calungute but still near enough to the restaurants etc :-) Anyone know how far Anjuna is as we're hoping to catch some parties there in the evenings....
Most of the better restaurants are in Baga anyway, so if your hotel is there you won't have to go far.
And there is Tito's and Mambo nightclubs.

Beira Mar is just on the border of Baga and Calangute. A great location for the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. You won't have trouble finding a taxi either as there are always taxi's parked outside.
Anjuna is a bit further afield - walkable but maybe not a good idea in the hot Goan sun!!

It's about a 45 min walk to anjuna along the cliff path (longer if you stop at cliff's shack
) not to be reccommended at night though. there is a pleasant walk up past Mackies and though some small villages, again not a option for nightime. Taxi doesn't cost a lot though.
45 min walk is cool, we're into hiking when we go on our hols lol!! Just wanted a rough idea of how far Anjuna was really as we'll prob wander up there during the day - but thanks for the tip, will defo stick to taxis at night

Low cost beds, it cost us £250 for the room for 10 nights for 3 people, i found the hotel on other sites, but lowcost beds are def the cheapest
my step sons and thier girlfriends stayed at the "biera mar". didn't rate it very highly!! they have railings over the balconies, probably so you can't commit ary carry i 'spos.
to be fair its great for bird spotters(twicthers) because they overlook a fantastic site for it. and the pool is OK.
just not the best place in baga.

We're only looking for a base and we wont be bothering with the food there so didnt really want to spend out a lot, short of paying out over double (and even a lot of those had bad reviews) we're just gonna chance it, i was brought up camping so anything is luxury compared to that lol!
My friends stayed at Beira Mar and though basic they loved it. They have a really nice pool backing onto paddy fields. I've stayed near there and it's well located for everything. Plenty to do in immediate area and less than 10 minutes to the beach.
