We have just returned from Costa Teguise, and stayed at the Barcelo for the second time, it is excellent :D The rooms to ask for are 141, 142,3 and 4. They overlook the sea, yet are just a step away from the pool!

:) I am going to Lanzarote in late july this year with my wife and two kids aged 7 and 10 staying at Barcelo La Galea. Does any one have any experience of this hotel and is the resort good for kids?

If anyone would like to post a review, please do so HERE.

Thanks.

going to La Galea end of july for 2 weeks and intend on hiring a car whilst there. Can anyone tell me if there are places to park a car near the apartments ?

Hi we went to the galea last week, and there are loads of car hire places within a 5 min walk, the nearest being 100 yards from front door next to tachice hotel.
Nigel I would say the hotel and resort are fine for children, although we went as a couple. There appeared to be some entertainers around, and costa teguise feels a safe area for kids. The hotel is 5 mins away from both beaches via front door. and back door leads out on to promenade at the front.
There is a water park at back of costa teguise, going out towards the golf course, and this might be good entertainment for your kids age group.
The only thing I didn't see was entertainment for kids in evening, there might have been some and I just didn't notice it i.e. to busy at the cocktail bar round corner. If that is the case and the kids get bored the tachice next door seemed to caberet every night, you could nip in there with them, and have a few drinks.
Cheers Bellana.

thanks,

are there car parking facilities near the apartments ?

Outside the hotel there are about 25 parking spaces, we never got one.
We ended up parking near the front, its a big car park next to the occidental hotel, its free of charge and about 200-300yards walk to the hotel. When we did shopping and loaded luggage we pulled up outside hotel door as there is a space for this purpose.
We didn't find the walk a great problem, its flat unlike were we live,if you are disabled there were spaces available near hotel for that, and people on the whole seemed to respect that rule.
Cheers Bellana.

can anyone who has been there tell me if it is disability friendly and which apts are best, ground floor beside pool and sunny side ?? thanks  has no one been here ??

I have recently been to these apartments, I'm afraid I didn't really notice whether it was disability friendly. There are no lifts so obviously you would have to request a ground floor room, if you got this I'm sure it would be fine there but I can't be totally sure.

I think all apartments facing the pool had a sunny balcony/terrace, there were few which had sea views. I stayed in a sea view apartment and our balcony had the sun all day, so I think you can be almost certain that you will atleat get half a days sun on your terrace/balcony wherever your apartment is. All seemed to be of a high standard, however some are studios and some are apartments, so your choice of where in the complex you want to be will be limited by which of these you choose to stay in.

These apartments were great and far better than any of the others I have visited. If you do stay here you'll have a great time :D

Hi
My husband and I both have mobility problems and although we have not stayed here for about 18 months we did manage ok. There are lots of steps to some apartments and the site slopes quite a lot to the pool area( a bit hard if trying to manage a wheelchair. If you search through this topic there is previous discussion about these apartments and disabled people. Hope this helps. :)

Having been to these great apartments 3 times in the last few years I have just noticed they now have all inclusive available. Has anyone been A/I there and could tell me what is on offer through the day with drinks, ice creams and snacks etc around the pool area. I may book it for next year but would like to know the standard of the A/I. Always been half board before and it was excellent.

Hi can anyone tell me if this hotel is pretty central for restaurants/pubs as we are thinking about going next June.
Also can someone tell me where you go on the yellow submarine?
Thanks

This hotel is about as central as you can get in Costa Teguise - it's in a fantastic location, close to the beach and a great selection of bars and restaurants.

I think the submarine goes from Puerto Calero or Puerto del Carmen. You'll be able to book it in Costa Teguise and there will be a coach to pick you up - you should be able to book it from the hotel, either from your tour operator rep, or if you're travelling independently, the hotel reception should be able to book it for you.

Thanks very much for quick response.

Will hopefully be booking for 2 weeks next June after reading all the positive feedback on here.
