I don't know if this has been covered before but they now have a circus in Benidorm called Chappito.

It's in the carpark of The Benidorm Palace and they have a show on every Sunday at 6.30pm

The price is €16 for adults and €8 for kids but they have discount coupons around the resort and there is also a clown in a silly car who gives out leaflets where you pay for an adult and get a child free.

Here is their website but it looks like it's all in Spanish, I can't see anywhere to translate but you get the gist of it.

For fans of the Singer Neil Ross...he isnt at the Talk Of The Coast anymore, but is now exclusive to The Town! He's on at 9 o clock 7 nights a week. He will be on till about mid-july, then having a break, and will be back on again from September!

Have just got back and while there went in Rolling Stone every night. A great bar and a welcome addition to the bars on the square.
It is friendly has a great atmosphere and plays decent music.Rock music, new wave, punk all sorts really. If the dj hasn't got anything you request he will try his best to get it for the next time you are in.
There is a large outside terrace and has decent air conditioning inside.

A few years ago we used to enjoy a club cabaret bar called Carriages, however when we were in Benidorm in 2007 it had been replaced with another Bar (can't remember the name). What happened to it? I have heard that the owners have now opened another cabaret bar called The Tavern. IS this true? Where is it and what is it like?

Yes Carriages is a sad loss really, had a good atmosphere with those little table lamps. It closed and was redeveloped as the Game Bird Pub..not a patch on what it used to be. The Owner now has the Tavern Pub on the Avda de L'Ametlla de Mar, just down from the Melia and Flamingo Oasis Hotels, heading towards the beach. They did have acts on for a while but dont think they have at the moment, whether that may change or not, i dont know. They did put the lamps back on the tables there though!!

Any one know the exact location of Snooks bar and closest apartments?

Snooks Bar is on Avda Juan Fuster Zarragoza, used to be a good Breakfast, not been for a while though! Not really sure of nearest appartments though! Never took much notice as i usually stay in Hotels.

Thanks for the info Taggy - We used to love going in carriages, your right it is a miss. The little Portugese waiter (was he called George?) used to have us stitches. Ah well, we'll just have to find somewhere else while away the hours - any suggestions for the best Caberet bars/acts?

Really miss Carriages too. Went to the Music Tavern and thought it was rubbish, Stevie Nelson didn't even play his trumpet and the accoustics were bad. Think Stevie is on at Tommy's some nights and Dene Michaels, I particularly remember Music Man, was in Beni last year sometimes at the Town. There was a release of Agadoo a couple of months ago and clips can be seen on You Tube as well as clips of Bruce (who?) Les Battersby of Corrie directing a version of Music Man.
My own particular favourites are singers, Neil Ross (at the Town now) Neil St' John, not sure where. Everley Brothers Tribute, Words & Music. Comedians, Tony Scott at Stardust and Rikki Stevens at UK Bar. Mike Dennett is also good entertainment but I think he does Benidorm in Winter and Blackpool in summer.

Yep Dene Michael is actually in England for the forseeable future, he's doing his Black Lace Tribute now, he's actually going to be on at a club near me i a couple of weeks, so going to pop over and see him, top bloke! Think they may pop back to Beni to film the Music Man vid, but depends a lot on Bruce Jones's schedule i think.

Georgio was a real character at Carriages wasn't he. There was talk of bringin him back to work at the Tavern but i dont think that ever materialised. He was still working in the kitchens of the Hotel Bali last i heard. Stevie Nelson will know if you see him.

Spoilt for choice for great Caberet acts and venues really. I too like Neil Ross who is on at 9pm every night at the town, although he's having a break from mid-end July and August, and will be back in Sept! Dave Keegan does a good Elvis Tribute there too. Wendy Kane at Sandras. Deb n Her are getting good reviews, at Tropical, White Horse, Tommys, Tower Lounge, Sinatras. We will Rock you at Morgans Tavern. Shoewaddywaddy & Peatloaf at Rockerfellas. Plenty of good comedians at several venues such as Zodiac, Sandras, Steptoes II. Most of the better Caberet bars are central so easy to move from one to the other and check out the boards. A couple that are a bit further away, but have good acts on are the Tropical and Rock n Roll house opposite Flamingo Oasis/Melia/Levante Club Hotels. And the Tower Lounge at OLd Town end of Calle Gerona, is pretty good but a tad on the small side!
