We booked a week at las faluas gran canaria on the 1st night I got bit by bed bugs it ruined our holiday you work hard for a holiday not to get it ruined I couldn't go in the sun had to throw away all our clothes and cases. stay away I was kept awake all night itching I finally went sleep at 6am exhausted from travelling was cryin nearly all night it was just irritating couldn't feel anything on me I got up at 8am and noticed red spots over my arm chest and legs I sat on the balcony crying til 9o clock till I could ring the holiday company up crying I said im not spending another night here my partner got up and noticed my back it had around 50bites on (pictures on trip advisor and put video / pictures on you tube bed bugs at las faluas ) they tell it all please look

It's terrible when bed bugs occur and can really ruin a holiday, as a former rep I had to deal with a couple of incidents, but luckily not many.

Were the bed bugs confirmed by a Doctor & did you report them?

It's always imperative that these kinds of incidents are reported to the hotel and the tour operator (if you had one).

thanks for your reply i rang the holiday company up on the monday crying saying im not staying here another night if you go on you tube bed bugs las faluas there is pictures / video on there

Thank goodness you managed to get moved, they can be a real nightmare, especially god forbid you end up bringing even one home by accident in your holiday suitcase or on holiday clothes - you can then end up with a real nightmare.

If ever I saw one, I wouldn't just want to change rooms I'd also insist on moving hotels.

The hotel needs all mattresses burnt and to be fumigated.

well my partner put his long pants on at the airport coming home when we was waiting for the taxi come home e started to itch when we got home he had been bitten on his forearm and down his rite side e jumped in the shower straight away through the cases and all the clothes away which some was new
we made a complaint to the holiday company when we got home the hotel replied they disagree with the clients complaint and that the clients was properly accommodated upon arrival if we was i wudnt of ended up like i did im now seeking legal action still both feel like things are crawling on us lol it was a nightmare of a holiday and dont want no1 else ending up like that its 7wks since it happened and still got scars

Unless you attended at a dr to have these bites confirmed and complained in resort I think you will struggle to prove your case. Did you do the above?

I just went the chemist got sum cream did complain to hotel they said it was the sun lol went to a doctor wen i got home shown then my bk and video they said bed bugs

I think this might be a case for a travel solicitor rather than a travel forum, if you have brought the insets home with you, you could end up having to replaces your own mattresses, chairs etc and incurs replacement costs.

I'm not sure you will need a Drs report as if you have photographs the bites are unique and it could be proved from those that it was a bed bug infestation by any Dr/Specialist on this subject.

I just want every1 to know wat sort of hotel it was we thought we was gettin a bargain well i did and i read another person moved out after us sayin investation of cockroaches its a dirty smelly place even the corridor walls dirty and paint comin off
