I stayed at the sun city a few years back Karen . My memory of it is not as clear as the BB but we certainly enjoyed our holiday there . The food at the belcekiz is definately better although we had no complaints with it at the sun city .
The general atmosphere was not as friendly and efficient as that of the BB but if your looking for a bargain for a few days it could well suit . I have a feeling though that it wouldnt be your cup of tea.

shame the belcekiz is so expensive £625 for 5 nights does seem very expensive , lykia coming out at £340 big difference, but hubby fancies staying in olu close to lagoon, shops etc for second week, we could go to akyaka but taxi is £55 and will probably cost us less staying in olu in an all inc, wonder what the alize is like as that is very cheap lol, im so useless at making decisions lol
hotelopia doesnt do the belcekiz
thanks lyn, i think ill have a think about it before i rush into any decisons, b&b and hb are coming out very cheap
What about Asena Beach on HB that should keep costs down and seemed nice. (I had a nosey about it) Lyn's been there.
Are there any hotels in olu that you didnt get a chance to have a nosey in Chris
loved the Asena Beach . That was our first ever holiday to turkey so it kinda holds special memories for us
We stayed at the BB last August. We booked accommodation only with Thomson and it was about £1100 for 3 adults for 14 nights. £625 for 5 nights seems very expensive for October Was this price from Thomson Karen?
cazz, this quote was from bb direct, now this is very strange, i emailled the manager back re this quote and he said hes made an error as soon as i told him i could get lykia half price, very fishy lol here are his emails
Dear Karen, Thanks for your e-mail.The room price is 125 GBP per room per night on all inclusive basis.Return airport transfer price is 90 GBP in total.Hearing from you soon. Best regards,
Hi Karen,
Sorry I made a mistake on dates.
The room price is 100 GBP per room per night on all inclusive basis.
Hearing from you soon.
Best regards,
looks like the prices have gone up loads , if you paid less in aug and this is the last week of the season lol , even thomson are coming out over a £100 a night
Karen, I presume you want to stay from 26/10 and check out on 31/10 ... doesn't seem any point in having a room on the last night, not with that lovely flight time home
i think the prices for bb are crazy and i cant imagine anyone paying that , if thats the price for last week im going to look at august prices on thomson now for a nose lol
ive just priced up our family for 5 nights in august to the bb on thomsons site omg !!! £790 who would pay this for hotel only , thats just silly prices lol

I was always 'looking for t'internet' Internet room in Lykia in summer was full of those business men who think their offices can't manage without them for two weeks. so are welded to their laptops. Either that or they dont want to play with their kids.
If your 5 days is during Oct half term Karen, it might be that the BB can charge more or less what they fancy. although I would have though bookings woud be down due to the credit crunch, so perhaps that's why he has suddenly remembered it's less per night lol.
The year we went, by July it was fully booked for both English half-term and Scottish half-term which I guess must be different, as we were told at the Thomson welcome meeting. Don't think they would make it up as not point as people might want to book to return in Oct.
Personally I think 100 per night is still a lot for it. I reckon they fill most rooms on TUI packages, most folk who had booked direct seemed to be Turkish.
bb might have increased their prices for that half term week but all the other hotels in the resort are really cheap that week, here are some examples compared to bb for 5 nights, olu deniz resort 234, sun city 173,lykia world 344, majestic bb 27, karbel bb 29,alize all inc 150, akdeniz all inc 147,pine village hb 78, asena beach 88. so you can see that these are all reasonable prices, so this makes the bb extortionate lol, oh decisions will take me ages to make it
It's so annoying that thomsons seem to have the monopoly on the BB .
As ive said in my pm I would go for the olu Deniz resort but I know your worried about their closure date
lyn
I had them all trailing over the french balcony on my rooms at BB. Being in a nice environment, will lovely grounds and gardens is important to us. Although I appreciate lot of people couldn't care less about that kind of thing. nice gardens etc. lol
yes im tempted by olu deniz resort only thing im worried about is when i went on their own website put in my dates it came back saying hotel closed
Oh Er ! Sounds too risky then sometimes these accommo only providers are a bit sloppy with the info they load on their web-site's. Suppose they loads 1000's of hotels and dates. I wouldn't put it past them to make admin errors.
Our daughter will be 14 when we go, she is a tall girl at 5 foot 8 inchs and is sharing a room with us, im worried that she will not sleep comfy on the sofa bed. Do you think if i e-mail the hotel a week before we go that they could put a single bed in the room for her.
Oliday, did you book direct with the hotel or through Thomson/Portland? The hotel have a couple of spacious studio apartments that sleep 5 adults comfortably but these are only available to those who've booked direct. The standard rooms are small
We have booked through thomson. Do you think the sofa bed will be ok. Are all the rooms the same size.
You could try emailing the hotel with your concerns and asking for a larger room/studio.
It is a lovely hotel though, I'm sure you'll have a great time.
Only got to wait 16 weeks now we are all looking forward to it.
