Hi Doe,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, read the reports, suppose I just wanted to make sure really.
We are going on the 17 July.......will be 2nd visit (2006), loved it last time and don't usually return to the same place twice but are making an exception for the BB.

Perhaps you were there at the same time as me I went in July 2006 :really

I liked it very much, going back this year but to Lykia World so it will be interesting to see how they compare.

Have a great holiday Graham, be good if you could put an up to date review on HT hotel reviews when you come back as I would consider going again and it's great to have recent info, whats still good, what isn't so good etc :tup

Take Care, Doe :sun2

Doe,
We most probably were there at the same time......we went last two weeks in July 2006.
I will post a review on my return, been a little lax at this in the past, but I regularly read other's reviews so should really do my share too.
Thanks,
Graham.

I nearly choked on my coffee when I saw the title of this topic! Phew, thank goodness it's not true.
48 more sleeps till we are back at BB (3rd time for us) :sun2

Awful isn't it when you find something that is d*** near perfect, you then start worrying about someone taking it over and spoiling it. ;)

Well let's hope it never happens with the Belcekiz because it's a little gem.
Wonder if Olu will have a different atmosphere this year if there are a lot of Russians? ;)
Reply
Probably will, it will change the character of the resort.

They tend to stay in their hotels near the bars as most are on AI holidays :rofl

That's o.k. then because we like to go walkabout. it's not fair though, we only discovered hotel last year! :)

Hope the Russians aren't coming as we put up with them in Marmaris (Sunrise) about three years ago, and I wouldn't be keen to repeat the experience.

Rude, boorish and comically blinged up
:rofl

If you go on Ht hotel reviews someone has just posted a new one for the Belcekiz for this year.
Entertainment team work very hard, it's not everyone's cup of tea I know but like you say they do try. They are fab people though. :)

I have previously read that pool towels are provided here - are you able to use the provided towels for use at the beach and/or lagoon or just within the hotel? We are going on 31st August for two weeks and really looking forward to it given the good reviews.

Hi, we used the pool towels at the beach and the lagoon, no problems.
11 sleeps for us!

Thanks for that Minione - looks like I'll be leaving the towels behind which is good given our luggage allowance! Thanks also for your reply to my mosquito enquiry. I'm the only one who usually gets bitten so will take insect repellent to be on the safe side! Have a great holiday :cheers

Booked for BB next August and been watching you tube videos of the great sunbed race that apparently occurs each morning,is it as bad as they say and is it just the pool area sunbeds that are treated like this.Dont mind getting up early but that video is a bit ott if thats what you have to do to get a sunbed.

Hi Tim, sorry to dissapoint you but yes the sunbed race is a complete pain. They don't open the pool area until 8a.m which sounds fine but you would not believe how many beds get taken so quickly. Everyone runs throwing towels over as many beds as they can obviously saving them for friends.
We gave up after the first couple of days because although my husband was there at 8 with the rest of them we were lucky to get two beds between four of us!
If you are not too bothered about being around the pool you can usually get sunbeds in the garden area which is only a few feet away and the waiters come round taking your drinks order.
Must say though the sunbed race was much worse this year, we went twice last year and we always managed to get beds if we went down for 8 so maybe it was just a more selfish group of holiday makers this year? Staff should remove towels if they haven't appeared before 9 a.m in my opinion.
You will have a great holiday though it's a fab hotel.

I went a couple of years ago, admittedly think it was July not Aug and we were quite happy to sun-bathe in the nice garden part. Never had these problems always managed 4 beds after breakfast about 9am ish.

I guess its a testament to how good this hotel is that it is normally full to bursting.

If you dont have kids how about the lovely quite adults only pool in the annex. I loved it there, but obvioulsy it is away from all the action and fun if that is your kind of thing.

Also I missed the sweet Turkish lad who used to come round and fan us with his large palm leaf for a laugh when we weren't looking. So lovely I wish I could remember his name.
