Interesting iniative from monarch in being able to bid for extra legroom seats , ( personally if I wanted extra legroom I'd book it in the first place , ) also the ability to purchase extra comfort seat too, by paying for the seat next to you .
I wonder if other UK airlines will follow suit ? Is the basic economy offer from airlines becoming so cramped / uncomfortable that passengers want this kind of offer from airlines to improve their journey ? Or is price the number one priority and the customer just wants a " seat on the bus " and is not too bothered about comfort ? ( I'm thinking mainly about short haul flights around 2 to 3 hours )

But, she's really only paying for 2 seats for herself & I can't imagine them being comfortable. Plus, I'm sure she said she has to sit in the one seat for take off & landing.....
