Can any of you Bitez regulars help me please?

I've just come back after spending the first 2 weeks of June in Bitez. Had a wonderfull time, the weather & the atmosphere were perfect. Cant wait until next summer to go back. And by that, I really mean I cant wait. I've been looking at the prices for the end of this season and found a deal where doing a cheapy means the 2 of us could go for a week s.c. for less than £400

The only doubts I've got is whether it is a bit late in the year. Its the 12th -19th October...................

What could I expect weather-wise and what about the atmosphere - would all the restaurants etc still be open? We noticed that in June the start of the hol was quieter than the last few days with the amount of holiday makers around but that didnt bother us as everywhere seemed to be in full swing, but dont know how I'd feel if lots of places were closing up.

I'd appreciate some honest replies as I'd rather pay a little more for September than go cheaper but be disappointed in October.

Has anyone been that late and can share their experiences?

We went to Bitez a few years ago for the last week of October, half-term, so a week later. While we were there, as the week went on, the restaurants started to shut for the winter. So day by day there were slightly fewer to choose from. However, when we arrived I think they were all still open, so should be for you. The water park was closed for the winter. They were still running the boat trips and excursions. We did the jeep safari on the Friday and they said it was the last one for that year. The weather was wonderful all week. Solid blue skies and very warm but not overwhelmingly hot. We had a fantastic week.

We go to Bitez every October, some of the hotels and restaurants will be closing, but there are still plenty to choose from, and the waiters, chefs take their time, IMHO the food is better at this time. The weather is still warm enough to swim, and it's cool enough overnight to get a really good sleep.
