We stayed in Bodrum in June this year, our fourth time on the peninsular. If you hire a car you really should visit all the resorts, Gumusluk is our favorite, but Ortakent (can't remember the proper name but it's NOT Camel beach) is well worth visiting as are Torba and Yalikavak and Gundoggen. In fact the only beaches/places we weren't too keen on were Bodrum, Gumbet and Turgutries.
We spent four really nice days relaxing on the Ortakent Beach, we thought we had made friends with the bar owner of 'Big Brother' who's sun beds we used and where we spent loads of our money, only for him to try to deliberately cheat us out of more when he learnt that it was our final day there!!

Hi,
Just back from 2 weeks in Bitez. It is a lovely place, quiet, there are no nightclubs in the resort and the bars are laid back and relaxed. It has a Dolmus which runs to Bodrum bus station where you can get dolmus to loads of places. You have to walk a bit for the dolmus to Gumbet or get it from Bodrum.
We found it to be a bit more expensive than Bodrum and Gumbet, for eating out and drinks, best to look around first.
The only major dont I can think of is DONT go to the Kassandra Hotel. It is terrible! could have spoiled our holiday if our friends hadnt been staying at circa and we only returned to Kassandra to sleep!
Hope this helps,
K

Thanks Scotty,
It sounds right up our street, with no nightclubs and laid back and relaxed bars. Wonder why it's more expensive than Bodrum
