I have no idea how this site works, although I know it can be annoying when someone opens a thread about a topic thats likey to be in another thread, but I couldn't seem to find anything on the site.
I was wondering about the Aegean flight changes (the online tour operator).. It seems that they are now operating a "BD" flight (British Midlands), which I would prefer to the deathtrap Onur Air. However, there is no records on the Glasgow airport website, nor the British Midland flight, nor the Dalaman airport website about British Midlands actually operating, this concerns me slightly.
Although, some may say, its just an airline... I don't want to be flying with a really tatty airline, this isn't to be snotty, I am just worried that the tatty airlines will go bust. Has anyone actually FLOWEN with a BD flight from Glasgow - Dalaman? Or are they just making up flight numbers to hide the fact they are using cheap turkish airlines.
If it helps anyone, my flight is:
19:40 Depart Glasgow (GLA) - 02:15 Arrive Dalaman (DLM)
Flight number: BD7469
Or if anyone has any information on the flight, please let me know.
Thanks, Kirsty
As it's a charter flight, it wont show on BMI's website. The flight exists (operated by an Airbus A320-232), I've flown MAN-DLM with BMI on charter flight. Don't worry, and enjoy Turkey.

Thankyou very much And also I appriciate the aircraft information.. Im always curious to know what kind of aeroplane im flying on
Been looking at BMIBABY flights for next year Manchester to Palma for fam of four comming in at £1138.00 is this what they call low cost, Monach £890 with £17.00 seats and bags, Bmibaby are charging £23.98 per bag Has anyone had the same prob.
Regards
Pete.
£23 per bag is that right as we only paid around £5 last year?
We paid £4.99 per bag this year looked for same flights for next year and when you start booking it hits you £23.98 per bag.
Regards
Pete.
Airlines are clamping down on the amount of luggage passengers can carry, and low cost airlines are charging a higher premium for those who want to take a bag. The airline industry is facing tough times at the moment and therefore passing on costs and charging higher premiums for 'extras'. Some carriers are charging £35 per kilo on some flights!!

Wow that is some increase

Dazbo I'm taking it that the £23.98 is per piece of luggage checked in as we paid the £4.99 last year also. I've had to pay a little more this year with Monarch but £23.98 per piece is steep.
Yes £23.98 per bag checked in with bmibaby.
Thanks peye ren, that is just so expensive especially as you have to check them in for the return flight also and as you can't combine weight with BMIBABY we found we had to take more luggage but smaller. We usually only take a large and medium case for 4 of us but this year we took a case and 3 small holdall's so that would come out expensive!
Its a joke, still looking for flights for 2009 and Monarch are the best up to now, so it looks like low cost are no more.
Regards
Pete.
Hi Pete, we've booked with Monarch who usually come out dearer that BMI but their flights were coming out over £300 cheaper for next year. Hope you find something
after some info pls flying from heathrow in jan with aircanada and going to book a internal flight from man with bmi will they charge for ski carraige n boots if so how much ? and do they have to booked when book the flights ?also when land at heathrow does your lauggage go direct to aircanada or do u have to collect it and book in again ? thanks
The carriage of sporting equipment with bmi is detailed on thier website. Air Canada are part of Star Alliance so you should be checked straight through to your destination airport. You'll get both boarding cards when you check-in so no need to collect your bags at LHR, just proceed to your connecting flight.
Darren
cheers for the info even though ive booked me internal flight seprate to the package holiday will they go straight to the aircanada
It shouldn't make a difference, they are code share partners under Star Alliance so they should have your details for both flights and check you straight through.
Darren
cheers for info makes it a lot easier not having to check in twice so regards to ski cariage when book it with bmi do i still have to book it with air canada
Yes, you'll have to make sure you book it for each sector as you are still on two flights each way even though there is an alliance between the airlines.
Darren
thanks for all help just never done a internal flight tryed getting info from holiday shop didnt get anywer just wont to get everytng sorted out
