bestfriend22uk,

Bmi are a full fare scheduled airline, who also operate charter flights for tour companies. Everything is included. They aren't like their low cost cousin, Bmi Baby that is a low cost carrier and you have to pay for extras. For more information, refer to Bmi's website.

Hi

We've booked with BMI Baby to fly to Alicante at the end of the month. We booked the flights and reserved seats back in October.

Does anyone know if we will be charged again if we change our seats to ones further back on the aircraft? :que

Many Thanks and Best Regards

Hi,

Can anyone advise me re online check in with BMI baby? I am flying GLA-BHX return Fri to Sun and will check in online. However on the way back I won't have facilities to print boarding cards for the flight back. This can only be done 24 hours before the flight.

Will I be able to still check in online for the way back and print the boarding cards at some machine at Birmingham airport?

TIA

Had the day from hell yesterday when i went to Edinburgh for the day with BMI Baby. After checking in I was told my flight back to Cardiff was cancelled. I could either, have a refund (£20), find my own way to Glasgow airport and wait until 9.15pm (original flight 6.50pm) for a flight back, or wait until the next morning (no accomodation costs paid) for the next flight.

I had to get back that night as I was feeling unwell so paid £160 to fly back on a Fly Be toy plane. BMI Baby say they cancelled the flight for "technical reasons", which i believe gets them out of compensation, however I have written to them asking for the exact reason as I believe under EU Legislation I am able to claim compensation if I can prove the cancellation wasnt actually a technical reason (eg. staff shortages etc).

Needless to say I will never use BMI Baby again, while their flights are cheap, their staff and help in these circumstances are terrible. Given the number of people stranded there last night, all they needed to do was put on a coach between the two airports for us and everyone would of been happy.

Good luck with getting compensation from bmi. We had a bmi full scheduled flight cancelled on us a couple of years ago from LHR to Aberdeen. They cited techincal reasons which got them out of paying, but another passenger is certain that our flight was used for the Teesside route by the way the gates were announced and we were bumped onto a later flight.

We already had a 5 hour layover and with the 5 hour delay due to cancellation we were at Gatwick for 10 hours. This was after flying from Las Vegas with a connection in the US which would have been about another 15 hours or so.

Well I found this very useful news article with a link to a good site where they get compensation for you, says I am entitled to €250 EURO compensation...

Thanks. I had a quick look, but couldn't find the relevant info.

Many thanks for the links, excellent information. Wish this was available when we had a flight from Heathrow to Aberdeen cancelled in 2005 for "technical reasons" which resulted in being stuck in the airport for 10 hours.

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me.

I booked to travel from Birmingham to Cork with BMI baby two weeks ago. However my partner has just been informed he is about to be laid off due to lack of work therefore we have decided it would be best if we cancelled our break to Cork. We were meant to be flying out on the 29th Aug and returning on 31 Aug.

Does anyone know if i could get a refund or maybe change the dates of Travel? If so how much would this be.

Hope someone can help!!

Cara1986,

If you cancelled, you won't get a refund from the airline. Refer to the FAQ on their website for further details on cancellations and a changes.

EDIT: we posted together Kath!

Hi. Does anyone know roughly when BMI BABY release their summer flights for the following year?

Word of warning with on-line check in. If you are unable to do on-line check in with Bmibaby as the system won't let you, print off the apology screen as proof that you couldn't do the check in. Otherwise Bmibaby will charge you for going to the desk. Happened to me and they charged me £6 for the privilege of their system not working. As someone who flies with them every week and always does online check in I was not best pleased.

It seems to vary, last year they were relased in November. The previous year they came out in September.
