Hi all.
We are looking to the Maldives as our next holiday and was wondering whether you could reduce costs a bit by booking the flights and the hotels separately (ie.bypassing the tour operator)? Also because we can only manage 10/11 days max off work and most tour operators appear to focus on 7 or 14 days. If you did this, how would it work with regards to getting a transfer to your island??
thanks in advance.
Chris
Stays of any duration are ok, transfers take place each day, I would try http://www.theglobalsuitcase.co.uk they would tailor you requirements to your needs.

Joe
It is rarely cheaper to book independantly for the Maldives. The flights are fairly expensive and you probably won't get a good a room rate as a tour operator who gets favourable rates for block bookings. You will also have to build in possible seaplane transfers which cost around £150pp.
These people are supposed to be very helpful and knowlegdable.

We searched high and low and the best prices were with booking with an agent/operator rather than independant.
