Does anyone know how late you can book in on a BA business class flight within Europe please ? My instincts are saying check in closes 40 mins prior to departure, but am not 100 % sure.

It's 45 minutes but realistically, depending on the airport you're flying from and the time of day, you need to leave longer than this to ensure you can get through security and onboard the aircraft before the doors are closed.
Darren
Thanks Darren, it's an early flight and I was wondering realistically how late I could get to the airport. I thought maybe business had a dedicated check in but I guess everyone has to go though the same security checks so that negates any time benefits of a dedicated check in, if that makes sense. Trying to get my head round a sensible time to leave home bearing in mind it's Gatwick and will involve the M25.
Hi doe , there is a separate checkin for club/biz Europe and you shouldn't be there long also you will get the right to use the premium lane at security , so you shouldn't have to wait too long , generally the queues have been around 10 to 15 mins max at the normal checking areas , unfortunately for you it is really busy early morning , and even more unfortunate is having to go round the m25 not only the dartford crossing but the nightmare that is jct 5 and clacketts which possibly could feel longer than your flight !! What time is your flight and which day ?
It's on a sat and departure is I think 06 25 ( TBH haven't got the details in front of me.) We should be fine, think I had something equally antisocial last year, but on a worse airline so shouldn't grumble. It's am award flight so shouldn't moan.

Just used my companion voucher and a few AVIOS !!! And will paying a visit to the Concorde lounge later on this year
this is much more boring. I was thing about 1 and 15 before departure. Last year I am sure we were on an even earlier thomson flight off gatwick and had to get up at 3am it quite ruined my day perhaps we should get an overnight hotel at Gatwick but that never seems to save that much time for some reason and will cost more than the flights.
Does anyone know which series 777 BA use for this flight ? Otherwise I may just wait for OLCI and take a chance finding 2 seats on a row of three
Thanks
http://www.thebasource.com which has a flight/ route tracker etc it shows the BA199 flight uses a 747 and the BA139 flight is a 777-300ER , they also have the seat maps for all configs on there which is useful, hopes this helps
If it is a 777 flight to Mumbai it will be on the 777 - 300 ER , they also do a flight which is BA139 which uses a 747 and this is how it's listed on BA website . But strangely when I looked on a website
this is confusing me as well. we are on BA 199 and I seem to be conflicting information. The seat plan is definitely a 777 yet I thought it was a 747. We have first redemptions and are 1 E and F supposedly.
The aircraft type used on the BA0199 varies and is also seasonal. It's a 747-400 at the moment but it changes to a 777 later in the year.
We fly on the 1st April Darren. Its def a 777 seating plan but down as a 747,
Thanks guys...Fiona we were on this flight last December and it was a 747 a very tired and uncomfortable one at that. The internal flight from Newcastle to Heathrow was much more comfortable. But I say if we pay economy that's what we expect, just have to keep on saving my points so maybe one day we can travel in style.

Hi Fiona , if you're in first in the middle seats ( e and f ) then there are 3 rows on the 777 but only 2 on the 747 , I got mine assigned when I booked , we got 2a and 3a .
Keep saving those points nejulie , it doesn't take too much to book WTplus and use points to upgrade to club , especially if you get on the upper deck on the 747 , a lot of reviewers rate that as good as first , and it makes all the difference on flights when you lose sleep overnight plus the time differences too , I flew back overnight from Cuba in virgin economy , honestly never again .
As for upper deck- I was lucky in my one time as I got 64A and K. And they are like having your own little cabin- much more privacy than first
Very nice seats , I wasn't too sure if I should change ours to e and f but the missus likes to be by the window , and probably wants to play with the blinds !! Well be sleeping on the way out anyway . On the 747 the two middle seats are set further back and 1A and 1K are very near each other in the cone of the plane , a lot of people want these seats but I think they are blocked off for gold status members . I'm more than happy with 2 return flights in first for £1000 , thank you tesco and Amex
Can any one tell me what plane ba use from gatwick o cancan, think the flight number is 2202 thanks
Welcome onboard
You don't say when you're travelling, but LGW-CUN-LGW (BA2203/2) are operated by Boeing 777-200.
Darren
I'm flying to Goa from Manchester on 7 April 2013. I've never flown with BA before so am a bit apprehensive about sorting seat out on line (but sure i'll cope). However i'm told quite clearly that i can only check in one case of 23kgs. On previous flights with other companys i've taken my luggage in two seperate cases, making it easier to handle, since i am travelling alone. Off to look for a case now!!
