We have stayed at the top pool appartments for the last 8 years, but sadly they aren't available this year. 10 minutes ago I spoke to the reception desk at La Siesta & they told me they are only for total group bookings like Spanish Sports Holidays & all the Spanish kids who arrive mid July en mass.
Panicking now. we cant get the last two weeks in July with any of the operators on site! Our kids have grown up on this site so if you need to know anything let us know.
yes it is a bit booked up at the la siesta camp for this year, the only vacancy i can find at about that time is with costa brava direct on 12 july for 2 weeks in a 2 bed super phoenix mobile home - but as I have mentioned before not too sure about the company
We're a danish family who booked a mobilehome at La Siesta through Costa Brava Direct Ltd. The company looks and sounds very professional - but...Before transmitting the payment next week (10 weeks before departure) we're a bit (read: very much) concerned about the Redcrest story and the fact that it's the same owners/staff we're talking about. We've mailed the campinq site to get an insurrance - do they know the company and do they have an office at the site as claimed. But no reply yet.
Any good advices? Or are we just overreacting?
Best regards from Denmark (sorry about our english)
The GS Family
Hello there, Costa Brava Direct is owned by an ex- Redrest Managing Director and his wife. The Costa Brava Direct site staff on La Siesta worked previously for Redcrest- nice little webb!! The company has no bonding what's so ever so basically if anything should go wrong you will not be covered. Hope this helps you in some way.
does anyone know of any other company beside siesta that still do coach holidays to la siesta camp from the uk?
hi eopen, you can get a taxi transfer no problem from Girona, there is a company taxi alex and girotransfer and resorthoppa but if you check earlier on this section you will find alot of other info. I would post it here but not sure how to post the link.
Hi Biscuiteer
Just wondered if anybody had been in early april..whats the weather like...how quiet is the resort..don't like it bouncing hence the time of year we go but we do like to dine out and have found in some resorts a lot of the restaurants to be closed..
One more thing does any body know if the pools are heated..
Many thanks
Can some one tell me if there are likely to be teenagers on this site at the end of July and if so what is there for them to do. I really would like to visit this site but worry that my two 16 year olds would be bored. Thankyou

I've booked Calella be palafrugell for next summer and am wondering if any of you enthusiasts know if there are sunbeds with parasols available for hire on the beach?
Also any must-dos in this area. It looks gorgeous!
Don't think you can hire them, parasols you could buy quite cheaply, you must do the coastal walk to Llfranc, it is a lovely walk and the view is amazing, about 20 mins, you can get a boat from Llfranc to the caves it is a nice trip about 90 mins well worth going on, it is such a lovely place you will enjoy it, a very chilling holiday,
A 'very chilling holiday' sounds just the ticket!
So when we came home instead of re-booking we decided to try Calella de parafrugel instead. We have booked a delux lodge from La Siesta, and are coaching it 2007 for the first 2 weeks of Oct.
So any one fill me in on what to expect for the first 2 weeks in October. Have always used La Siesta coaches and sites but only in Salou. Would like to know what goes on the Calella de parafrugel site fo these weeks .
Do trips to caves ect still go on .
Also is there a Mercadonna supermarket local. How much is it to hire bikes. Is there any local car hire (one of my sons fancies going out and about with his girl friend) .
Someone mentioned earlier about the chinese buffet bar is this close to camp site . Is there a Mcdonalds. Is there a variety of resturants . Any recomendations for clean cheap places to eat . Friendly bars that allow a 13yr old in , with a pool table.
Sorry to ask so much but first time and would love to be tuned in before We go
wonderfull place love it, if you go out of the entrance where the coaches drop you off turn left, 15 /20 mins walk you will come to the town as you enter it big supermarket facing sells everything, opposite it you have a chinese very good one to, if on the days the market is on you can get all fresh veg fish etc, supermarket on site is good to, if you go out the main entrance downhill to the wonderful coves and beaches, around 8 mins walking, do go to llfranc 10 mins coastal walk views amazing, you can get boat here to the bat caves, also buses around every hour to other places near by very cheap if you hire a car, tamariu lovely, palamos and estarti all close by, not calella by any means, this is a lovely place peaceful safe and relaxing
There is still available mobile homes at this site with Keycamp Holidays in July and August - I have just booked again for this year after a fantastic previous holiday with them at La Siesta last year! It's Keycamp.co.uk
