abit concerned about the comments made on the Caleta Amarillo - I have received a response saying all is well, but would welcome any others.
Can you confirm any good places to eat as we are self catering - is there a water park at corralejo and how far is this from Caleta de Fuste - is it best to book this with the hotel or at a shop locally? Any decent boat trips.
I would welcome any useful information.
We are due to depart late August.
cheers

There is a waterpark at Correlejo, and you can book it through 1st Choice, it leaves at 0830 and returns at 5pm, it is about 45 minutes on the bus, we didn't go but others did and said it was great. There is also a zoo which again is meant to be great. At the harbour there are sea lions and an aquamarine with a sumbmarine boat which you can go out on, loads of watersports, beachwise the best one is directly behind the Atlantico shopping centre (which also has a hugh Spar in it for s/caterers) it is a really quite beach with no waves, really calm, nice sand with no stones but it can often be a bit windy on the beach. Cannot fault the entertainment team, they were so enthusiastic and they really made our holiday. Side A is much quieter than side B, side B had the showbar and all activities through the day, the showbar closes at 12midnight and everything tends to go quiet around 1 - 2am, but our room was directly opposite the showbar and the noise didn't bother us at all.
You will thoroughly enjoy your holiday, and we would definately go back but next year the Amarilla and the Dorada are merging to make one hugh complex and I think it could possibly be too big!!!
The Amarilla is nice, but be warned you do have to get up early to get a sunbed! The food is ok, a bit the samey but all the same still nice.
If you like steaks you have to try a resturant down by the harbour, i can't think of the name at the moment but it is upstairs by the lighthouse.
I would also receommend hiring a car and going to see some of the island. We had a car for about 4 days and got around pretty much of the island. El Cotiollo up the top of the island is beautiful. but then again the majority of the island is beutiful.
Anyway if you are going out there soon have fun and enjoy the sunshine.
Julie thanks for your response, I am really looking foward to going now - but can you confirm if the pools at Caletta are salt or fresh water?
Marco, we stayed in june 2005, and we were in room 15b, wihich is directly opposite the busy pool and entertainment bar, you actually look onto the steps which lead to the pool but found this was great, especially on a night time as we just went to our room to use the toilet etc. Would request this room again as it was ideally located for everything but it is on the noisier side, but we have 2 small kids (2 and 7) and the noise didnt bother us at all. Food is excellent and entertainment is also excellent, you will love it. Pools are great, freshwater.
apparently on a scale of 1 - 5, it is a 4 according to first choice
Anyone confirm what the cost opf upgrading from self catering to All inclusive is in ££££
cheers
hi we were meant to go here but changed due to building work has anyone sen it is it bad noisy
hope you all enjoy your holiday as much as i did.
how much is to upgrade from SC to AI thanks
I really cant remember how much it cost to upgrade. sorry. I know it was a lot cheaper to upgrade in the resort.
When I was there in 2005, there was a playground up the steps behind the check-in area, opposite the restaurant. My Daughter left them there twice under supervision (Playgroup)
WHEN I STAYED THERE, THERE WAS NO PLAYGROUND. THEY SAID FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY REASON THAT THEY HAD TO DISPOSE OF IT!!! BUT FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN IN THE BROCHER (SPELT WRONG) THEY ARE STILL SHOWING PICTURES OF THE PARK. BOTH MY CHILDREN WERE DISSAPOINTED.
