Hi all,
I need some help off you wise people!
I really would like to book to go to Cyprus. There are a few things I would like and wonder if anyone can recommend a resort and/or hotel?
1/ Nice hotel on bed and breakfast basis.Not too big say under 100 rooms. I prefer to stay in not too big a hotel complex as I think they are more friendly. Near the beach( sandy) and restaurants etc
2/ Location? well, there are 6 of us going. A couple in their 30's and a couple in their 30's with two children aged 8 and 10. We like it so there is plenty going on and not too quiet but still feeling like you are in greece and not blackpool! so lively enough that you can do that or so that you can equally get away from it as well.
I had Protaras in mind? but I am not sure what everyone thinks?

Protarus or a little quieter Permera on the east cost or possibly Pollis on the west coast have you looked at the members resort reports for Cyprus yet??

We been to Protaras nine times now and have just booked up again today. I guess you could say we like it!! Both beaches are gorgeous - Flamingo Beach and the famous Fig Tree Bay and also great for kids. The weather is fantastic.
We have stayed at the Golden Star - a few years ago now- which is right beside the beach and about 300m from the main strip where there are loads of good restaurants and bars, all family friendly. More recently we've stayed at the Vangelis which is only a couple of minutes from the main beach and right in the centre. Have fancied staying in the Rising Star (excellent reviews) but have never got booked on time. Went in one night for the entertainment and they looked really nice. They are across the road from Golden Star. All 3 of these properties have kids clubs and onsite entertainment run by Airtours who do plenty of activities to keep the kids amused.....and adults too if you're not careful!!
There are lots of good places to stay and Im sure you would have a great holiday there.

Ahhh thanks guys I knew you would come up trumps!
Right, Protaras is it is then! We are going first two weeks of August so I had better take the factor 60! or else I will fry !lol
Now I know which destination to look at it will make my search a lot easier!
