Hi all
it looks like we may not be able to get where we want in olu deniz for the 10/09 and may have to settle for hisaranou , if i remeber rightly is hisaranou on the way to the ruins ? or is that from fethyie in the other direction , or is hisaranou the village just before olu deniz which seemd to have endless bars ?
we really wanted olu deniz but would i be ok to settle for hisaranou ? as we are really lookign to just relax not `club it` ?
Cheers
Dan
Hisaronu is not far from Olu Deniz, its easy to get a bus down to the beach, about 15mins. The advantage is that you have more bars and shops than in Olu. and its also cooler being in the mountains.
Personally I would prefer to stay in Olu as its so pretty and I'm surprised you are having trouble getting booked. Have you tried Tulip Holidays.
Its normally the flights that getted booked up.

Hisaronu is between Fethiye and Olu Deniz, just after Ovacek.
Is it a specific hotel that you want in Olu that you can't get? I can't believe that all the hotels are fully booked! I'd rather try another hotel in Olu than stay in Hisaronu nowadays.

Hi Dannyj,
Have you tried looking on Buzzytravel.com - they specialise in hotels in Oludeniz and can often get you a very good deal too. I'm sure you'll find a hotel to suit your needs there - there's lots of them dotted around the resort.
If you wanted something verylaid back and quiet you could always try the Sugar Beach site; they're directly on the beach of the lagoon, and although basic they are very good. Very reasonable too.
Hope you get fixed up!

Sugar beach club looks very basic, sort of camping in small huts. I imagen its used by paragliding enthusiasts etc.
Why do you want HB have you heard about the great choice of food in the restaurants in Olu.

Danny,
You can eat out quite cheaply in Turkey. If you look around and find out where the local workmen eat, you'll find great food and great value for money. We always find these places are great for atmosphere too! Of course you can go to other more "up market" places some nights too. It's all part of the holiday fun!

Hi Dannyj,
The Sugar Beach has little wooden chalet's to sleep and eat in. They also have a small verandah where you could eat lunch/dinner or even fix a barbecue.
They have a lovely restaurant at the far end of the chalets - all done out in lovely colours with big, soft cushions everywhere. It's really lovely. But suited for a very chilled out type of holiday.
The Ata Lagoon in Oludeniz is good choice too. Again, very reasonable, food is excellant, and great location. I think it's a 2 star but deserves to be a 3 star in my opinion.
Have you looked at the Buzz site?

Hi Tishtosh,
I can't think of any Turkish places to eat in Oludeniz (not ones where the Turk's eat anyway); you usually have to go into Fethiye for those. Or have I missed out?

It's been a few years since we were at Olu right enough, but I do remember a place which was tucked away, where the locals ate. It wasn't like the places in Fethiye and other established towns, but it was good, and cheap. Oh I wish my memory was better!
hiya straberry
cant find any from buzz that go to olu , just marmaris !
and their website is a hideous mess !

Just had a thought!
A lot of the B&B hotels offer half board when you get there. The Turquose Hotel and Akdeniz Hotel are ones we've stayed in. They also did an option where you could eat 3-4 days out of the 7 very reasonable it was too.
We must find you something there Olu Deniz is too good to miss!!!!!

hi danny . I believe this is the buzz travel mentioned http://www.buzzytravel.com/
also as another thought . many of the B+B hotels may be able to offer you a half board option once you get there. for example I know the Asena beach do that . you can buy as many days half board with them as you wish . i believe around £5 per person extra and then if you buy so many nights you get an extra one free. Im sure others can suggest more hotels that would offer this facility upon arrival.
lyn.
p.s looks like I double posted with ron on that one .
also I can thoroughly recommend tulip . We have used them before.
