Hi all, hope everyone is well. Looking for some advice for our return trip to Sharm in January. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza last December and we are unsure wether to go back again. We loved the hotel and it's location next to The Garden reef's. The dilemma is, Do we go back because we adored the snorkelling there or try somewhere different with equally/better snorkelling straight off the beach ? (If thats possible) Thinking about Hilton Sharm waterfalls ? Any first hand experience on this would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Stevie
the reviews of Hilton waterfulls looks good and we have booked HSB via http://www.hilton.co.uk where the prices are good

i stay at the rennasance golden view which is in ras um sid next door to the waterfalls both are fantastic hotels, and both back directly onto the beach where the snorkelling is some of the best in the area, i dont know about walking distance to the old town but a taxi should cost no more then 20le u can get it for 15le but its a challenge. the RGV would be the cheeper option of the two and infact that better quality hotel but i know there are offers on the waterfalls sometime for as little as £30 a night in the winter months.
I'm considering the Rennaisance Golden View for a week April.
Please could you tell me do the standard rooms have 2 queen (small double) sized beds? I need to decide if I would be better off with 2 standard rooms, or one large family room for a family of 4 including 2 young teens. My understanding is that the family rooms are huge with a separate annexe, so I'm not sure which to go for.
Lad81, what was the weather like in December? we are going for Xmas and New Year, hoping it is warm enuff to do the usual snorkelling, Ras Mohammed etc. I have been on the weather site, but to much information to understand.
Hi Pubestone, weather in December was a constant 27 degrees all week. Only a light breeze in the evenings, nothing too windy, just a light jumper/cardigan for walking around at night in Namma Bay. Snorkelling was absolutely amazing, after the initial plunge into the sea (which wakes you up, believe me) i was in for a couple of hours at a time.
we stayed at the RGV last year...we had a standard sea view room...the beds were big...but not massive....great for one person but a bit of a squash for two.
the room we had thought did have a locked interconnecting door which could be another option to consider. medot.xx
That was what we were allocated last year at the Crowne Plaza, I booked 2 rooms and they gave us interconnecting ones without me even asking (or paying extra) . As the RGV is one of the better hotels there, perhaps they will be as accommodating.
