We hired our car from Tsiliv( think that is what it's called) Hubby has just had his statement from the bank and it cost £79 pound for four days, Mitsubishi Colt,(its all they had available for when we went in) four door, fully comp insurance. They also do reasonably priced excursions too.

If you book with Platon Car Hire in Pernera they will arrange to collect you from the airport saving you 50 euros taxi fare - they will also arrange to return you to the airport at the end of your holiday - this year we paid £225 for 9 days and got one extra free day. All inclusive. Platon or Petsas are both reliable.
Perhaps not such a saving ? I've paid £118 for 9 days hire picking car up at airport and dropping back. All inclusive of insurances and extra driver etc. The only extra I'll have to pay is the fuel

We got 5 days for £18cyp last year (or 14 days £16cyp a day) Thinking of going back in Sept/Oct and just pricing for car from airport and drop back again (Larnaca/Protaras) I hate those coaches lol Have a tight budget

Having used Petsas for years I didn't book with them this year as the emailed prices were so high in comparison to last year even taking into consideration the exchange rate changes.
I saved myself £80 GBP by going elsewhere......really nice car and good service.

I didn't think we could go this year either but got a cheapie and thought what the heck with the 'credit crunch' 
I used auto-europe.co.uk and got a nice air c o n mid size almost new car for £129 for 10 days full hire in June And also because I went through a cash back site I got a further 10% off that price by the time I got home

Anyone used http://www.economycarrentals.com ? all the quotes I am getting elsewhere inc Petsas is over €230 (app £180) That website works out around £150.

Hi Jamie.......I think autoeurope prices fluctuate according to how many bookings they have, it's a case of striking it lucky with them. I've used economy before as have others I know, they use various companies to source the cars and the only major complaint I've had and feedback from others is that some of their cars are slightly ropey to say the least.....it's the luck of the draw by all accounts.

They have come back with €25 per day for a yaris inc all insurances and no excess and 2 drivers. Petsas was €32! All others are around 32 or more.
I have doubled checked that price with them too.....is it too good to be true?

You could try arguscarhire.com I have them coming out at about £18.50 a day....not sure when your travelling ? I've used these before and they were pretty good

thanks Miss_Chief1 I seen that but by the time I add on 2 drivers (age 31 & 38) full insurance/cdw and no excess its more expensive.
Need hire from 1st - 8th Oct picking up and dropping off at Larnaca Airport....just incase you see a good deal
Kyprexxo are under economy car hire and some other agencies, they are based in Lissamol.

Did you find the same ? My only reservations are with the age of some of their cars BUT as your travelling out of high season I think you could score for a decent car and possibly get an upgrade into the bargain....that's what usually happens to us out of the high season regardless of who we hire through. Also remember that despite them indicating that some cars don't have air con and you have to pay for it as an extra that's really rare with Cyprus hire cars, I'd say 90% have air con as standard so why pay extra for something you'll get anyway.
