Carnival this year in PDC

Hi everyone and a Happy New Year to all

Can anyone tell me when the carnival is this time? think I've asked this the last couple of years as we come out at the end of Feb (arrive on the 26th this time for a week) and can never remember how to work it out!! Know its something to do with how easter falls.

missed it last year but caught it the year before and it was great!!

Carnaval is always the day before Shrove Tuesday, with the Burial of the Sardine on Ash Wednesday. Usually carnival in Puerto del Carmen is the Saturday after this!

ok thanks Sue - knew it was after some sort of event :duh

!!

will have to have a look when shrove tuesday is this time to see if we are gonna be lucky to catch it or not!

Easter is very late this year. Shrove Tuesday isn't until 8th March.

Hi Jan, yes thanks keeping well!!!

So that means that PDC carnival will be 12th March for the main parade, and Arrecife 7th March! I had heard that the carnival theme for Arrecife is Opera, but have just seen a poster in PDC for carnaval with dragons and castles all over it, so fantasy maybe as the theme there?!

sounds great - unfortunately we go home on the 5th March so will miss it this time :cry

Obviously later this time due to easter being late but never mind, have to plan our trip better next time!!
