Me again
Has anyone been to Cavelossim, Benaulim and Colva as a day visit?
I fancy visiting these beaches (and many others) but not too sure about the beach huts....Don't see eye to eye with creepy crawlies n stuff!
I was hoping to go via taxi to these, so any indication on cost would be great. Also any recomendation would be much appreciated and noted.
Thanks so much.............Less than 5 weeks to go now!!
Benaulim and Colva are very close to each other, and Cavelossim is only 20mins away, so it's possible to have a look at all three in a day . My choice would be Benaulim, lovely village, and beach with lots of shacks try Little Tiger. Good retaurants are Johncy's and Pedro's both by the beach . You can walk along the beach to Colva , around 25mins , which is more built up and touristy but in an Indian way, and can be rather "grubby". But again lots of shacks and restaurants, Domnicks on the beach and Kentuckee are good. You will be pleasantly surprised at the prices charged, there is also Cafe Coffee Day in Colva for some really good coffee. Not sure of the Taxi fare but should be around 1300 rs for the whole day, could be less , time it takes around 1-1/2 hrs depending on traffic and your taxi driver.
We came back from Colva 5th Feb and like lassigirl says its more of a indian tourist resort and not as clean as it could be.... we have been going to Goa for 8 years so use to seeing rubbish etc not sure if there more rubbish or up north its been pushed off the main road/tracks etc. We walked from Colva to Cavelossim which took 2.45 mins, as stated all have nice shacks and not on top of each other.
Enjoy
regards Jules
Also on a monday night there's a market in colva, it started at 6pm when we were there in january, dont know if that is the regular time for it to start but i was told it does not finish till 2am cant say if thats right or not. Nice market hope this helps.Thats great news lassigirl about the cafe coffee day as that was the only thing we missed was a good cup of coffee, many thanks.
