As far as i am aware, just shirt and trousers for men and it does not have to be a dress for the ladies, trousers is fine, whatever suits you as long as it is suitable
We usually stay in the Calypso for Xmas/New Year and find everyone dresses to kill. Thats why we love going. Its lovely to be able to wear nice clothes every night. Having said that, if you don't want to dress up I'm sure you will still enjoy it - each to their own I say.
It's cool/cold in the mornings especially if the sun is not out and it's breezy, but going on the last 5 years, then by 11am and especially if the sun comes out, you'll be peeling the clothes off.
When the sun starts to go down around 5pm, you'll notice the fall in temperature and will be putting the layers of clothes back on because of the wide differences between daytime temps and night temps, whereas in the summer months there is very little variation between the two.
Everyone makes an effort to look smart for the gala meals and if you are staying in the hotel Don Pancho, then dinner jackets/suits and evening gowns are required.
Looking smart doesn't necessary mean you have to be trussed up and looking like the dogs dinner, but it is a special occasion and most hotels expect their clients to atleast look respectable and look as though they are attending a gala meal and not a trip down to John and Joseph's cafe.
I'm a trouser woman and always have been, so I usually wear black trousers and low heeled shoes, otherwise I'd fall and break my neck on the tiled floors.
I combine the trousers with a nice top, then I only have to mix n match the trousers with another top for the New Year it saves on the weight when packing because it's surprising how much a few wooley jumpers can add to the cases....and we all know how "hot" the TO's are on excessive luggage weight, Christmas or not, it makes not one iota of difference to them when they see an opportunity to acquire some more pounds, shillings and pence....bah humbug.!
You'll need a warm jacket if you are venturing out of the hotel at night.
I might see you there.

regards groundman.
Hi Groundman, we will be there 22-29th this year. We spend most nights having a coffee with baileys at the bar after evening dinner before heading for the clubs, may see you there between 9 and 10 pm. Have a great time.
Yes we have also booked for New Year - we are looking to stay at Lavante Club apartments - they have an indoor pool, so we can enjoy a swim if the weather isnt good, although we were there 2 years ago and the weather was really nice, plenty to do - so looking forward to the fireworks

hi i am going to benidorm at new year, going to levante club apts
Firstly I'd like to say hello as I am new to this forum! A friend and I have booked up to go to Benidorm for Christmas and new year this year, we are stopping in apartments in Rincon-de-loix.
We are both 27yo males so our question is are there a lot of people about our age group as we have been told that it is mainly for older people over this period?!
We understand that it's not going to be like Jul/Aug etc but just wondered if all the Karoake bars/pubs etc still get a decent amount of younger people in or is it mainly OAP's?
Any information anyone could provide would be great!
Cheers
Chris
Just relax and enjoy yourselves, much better than spending New Year in this country.
P.S. The White Horse i n the Triangle seems to get a mixed age group, so you should have a good night in there also Loch Ness opposite the Presidente Hotel is a disco bar and is open until very late.
hi does anyone know when the budget flights are available for this xmas and new year 09
