Pools are too cold unless they are heated at this time of the year, but it is lovely sitting out, although there were some pretty cool days at christmas time year last year - still an excellent time of the year to go.
Judging by the amount of people still swimming in them every Sunday when Im around one there not!Pools are too cold unless they are heated at this time of the year
Maybe on the odd chilly day, but remember we still get up to 10 hours a day warming sunshine per day in the "depths" of winter.

We are going for Xmas & New Year. We were on the island for Xmas 2004 but this will be our first New Year. We had a great time in 2004 staying at Chayofa Country Club but this time we are having our first Xmas in our own apartment (also in Chayofa) having received the keys earlier this year. I must say that it seemed odd having breakfast outside on Xmas morning and then going for a swim but I'm sure I'll be able to cope with it again.
Having Xmas dinner in the Oyster Catcher, the new pub/restaurant that has opened in Mirador
We too are out for xmas and new year, although it will be our first christmas day out there, not sure what to do for xmas lunch - what is the Oyster Catcher doing that day - is the dinner at night or lunch time?
The kids can have a swim in the morning then after lunch we could all go a walk before heading back to sit on the balcony about 5pm and drink to our hearts content

Oyster Catcher is open all day so just pop in and let them know what time suits your own party
We are in PDLA for the New Year, going 29th Dec till 12th Jan,staying at the Vulcano. This will be our 7th New Year in PDLA,really looking forward to it.

Off to Monterey Dec 29th - 5th January - Wife and 3 other family members in tow. First time ever away over a new year - so not too sure what to expect but i'm sure it will be fun anyway.
Will be in Tenerife for 3 weeks over the christmas and new year period (if our permanent move there has not happened first).
Have been this time of year for 10 years now and would not want to be anywhere else.
Paradise43man- You will love it

Hi all we go on the 23rd to 29th Dec went last year for 1st time with our daughter and family, but this year just hubby and me, we are staying at the Commadoro in LC cant wait, but got Benidorm first in 7 weeks roll on Christmas
Lovely memories of New Years in Puerto de la Cruz dancing in the street, listening to the 'bombas', conga-ing through the restaurants and kissing ... everyone! Just a lovely, fun-filled atmosphere.
Then our whole hotel being woken at 10:30a.m. on the !st January by an enebriated Scotsman, complete with Tam-o'shanter, kilt, sporran and five whisky bottles draped about his person singing "I Dream of Jeannie....." from his pavement stance to we dressing-gowned sleepyheads on our balconies.
Hope the South is as much fun!

The fireworks start at midnight and they are all over the island. We normally watch them along the front at Fanabe. Brilliant atmosphere. You can't tell who is drinking in what bar because everyone is just mixing with everyone.
Have Fun

Hey guyz, i went to plda last new year and stayed at neptuno apartments and totally loved it!! want to go back so much this year but thinking about bookin accomodation and a flight separatly. Has any1 any good cheap flight websites i could look for quotes on?? the only ones i know is flightline.co.uk and globespan but both are comin up at about £400 each per person for the flight only and i still think that a bit steap! any info/help will be much appriciated! many thanks mandz x x x
Hi Mandz I have a time share at Neptuno and I am going there on 3rd October, did you meet Pedro from behind the bar well all the bar staff are great and the food at La Sarena is excellent. You can book accommodation with them direct and I find Monarch are good for flights. Let me know how you get on Sue x
Try Avro, Air200 (First Choice), Britannia (Thomson Fly). Suprised at Flightline as we always use them and have never paid more than £250.00 each for a flight at christmas. Is it the one in Canvey?
Sometimes if you can go a bit earlier you will get cheaper flights. Last year we were going to go Dec 23rd for 2 weeks. We ended up going Dec 16th for 3 weeks as we saved almost £500 on all the flights by going a week earlier. We would have spent that money on flights anyway but it was better spent as another weeks spending money
