We would like to offer our opinion on the Jupiter. We have grown up children so were on holiday alone. Our first impression of the hotel in general was the noise!!!!! Boy it hit us between the ears, particularly at meal times. We had forgotten how noisy and manic children be, especially in vast numbers. Unfortunately not all parents seem to be as fussed about having control over their darlings as we would be! It took us probably two days before we got used to it and were able to concentrate enough to have a conversation over the din! The food, however, is superb. Really something for everyone, special childrens counter, vegetarian options and plenty for the meat eaters etc. The complex is enormous and, when full, finding a seat can be difficult. We recommend taking towels down to poolside before breakfast, especially if you want to grab some shade for later! Family entertainment is very good, in fact, can only describe it as 'Butlins abroad'. We got more from the holiday by joining in as everyone is there to have fun and all seem to be friendly. There is genuinely no restrictions on drinks from the bar, anything from beer to cocktails. Would say great place for families and for couples who are prepared to 'go with the flow!'.

I went last year and it was wonderful! All though the location was not particulary great, the hotels themselves were brilliant, and right near a water park. Ice cream near the pool all day and plenty for kids and adults alike!

Hi,

Have read loads of reviews about the accommodation at Saturno/Jupiter/Marte and just wondered if anyone had any reviews about the Villa's at Club Mac Alcudia? We're off there in July.

Thanks in advance

We returned from the Saturno on the 25th - kids aged 12 & 9 had a great time there, made some really good friends and the hotels 10/16 club was good for them - however it is a holiday that you have to make work for you - we had a good time but would not return - hotel was not the best nor where the kids running up and down the hall way at 3am with the parents screaming at them - the walls are like paper and you can hear everything in the rooms either side!!!! Weather was brill and the pools are very clean.
Started to get very busy during our second week, like i say a good holiday but i would say that the entertainment is more for the younger child. Food is good as is the drink - all named and not watered down at all. Hope that helps.

hi all!

Ive stayed at this hotel twice, once when i was 11 and again when i was 16. i went with family. the first time was fine decent food nice pool etc. but the second time wasnt as good.the quality of food wasnt as good and the pool area seemed quite scruffy! theres quite a large lake area which is nice, the kids will enjoy themseleves!

The que for the bar was crazy, sometimes took 30 minutes to get served!

i think the quality of the hotel has taken a serious nose dive and i wouldnt recommend it!

Sorry for being so negative!!!!

Kylie

There used to be a bar called The Queens opposite this complex that had a Karaoke on most nights run by a guy who looks a bit like Jonathan King - poor chap!! Just wondering if anyones knows if its still there, or if indeed he is!!!

Read somewhere recently that the Jupiter has updated some of the lifts and intrduced a 24hr all inclusive along with other changes to the facilities, can anyone confirm this??

We got a letter a month ago saying some of the things like the go karts are not being used anymore
Reply
Trigger-ni, There are no go karts on the complex - however you can hire the small quad bikes for the children. Its nearly 24 hrs all inc where you can get your drinks and cold food after midnight until 6am - but i think its all closed from 6-8am (only know that from the day we left at 6.20am). there is also a bouncy castle and like on site which you have to pay for - my children spent a fortune on the bull!!!!

In resepct to the bar ques, its nothing like that - yeah they are long but all bars have 3 people serving and they go down so fast as there is no exchange of money - if your only after beer then its all there and waiting for you so no need to que. Also for the soft drinks, no ques as its help your self.

Not sure on the lifts as we stayed in the Saturno but they did look better - still ques though, i would recommended that you call now to ask to be put on a lower floor - 9 floors is a lot of steps when they dont work!!!!

We had a power cut for about 6/8 hours - that was fun!

Hi there !

I am going on a Family holiday to the Jupiter Hotel in Alcudia in early September, there will be 7 adults & 4 children ranging from 3 to 10 years old. I thought i would check the Hotel reviews on this site to see what people thought about the hotel and area, the results are so diverse ranging from Superb :D !! to the holiday from hell  !! as most of the reviews are dating from 2004 I was wondering if anybody out there has been to this Hotel recently and can give me an honest opinion of the place and also suggest where the best places to go around the resort

Thanks Roger

Hi,

:?: A few Q's ref the Club Mac Hotels Jupiter, Saturno & Marte?

Does anyone know if you can upgrade your room, once in resort?

Can you hire a fridge and Fans?

Is the lager San Miguel!? (v. important lol) :D

Are there plenty of highchairs? or worth taking our own?

Going in sept 05, with an 11 Month old, so any tips or advice greatfully received!

jaxajo - their is a massive post on this - however to answer your questions - No you can not upgrade your rooms - No fridges or fans but the Air Con works a treat - San Miguel it is in deed, and even better its not watered down!!!!! there seemed to be free high chairs so you should be ok!!!!!!

You maybe able to upgrade when you arrive in the resort, But you often find them to be booked-up . So its prolly a Luckydip when you arrive.

The rooms are ALL Air conditiond . but I havent seen any Fans for hire when i have been.

There are Highchairs in the dining areas. But if you are wanting 1 for elswhere then i advise you to take your own.

You CAN hire buggys whils there, but the last few-time i have been Plenty of peeps took their own.

The Pools there are temp controlled So becarefull with the baby. My kids where comming out of the Pools & was that cold their Lips were BLUE. But only takes em a few mins to warm back up as it was in the High 90`s

The Icecream Parlour should be good for the baby too ( Kids Lub it in there :) )

It can get a little COLD when outside watching the entertainment that is on ( Everynight something to do & watch ) Bingo ( Sigh), The reps put on a show everyother night, on the odd night there is Live music / Hypnotist`s Live bands etc ( So much to do without leaving the complex).
( There can be winds, Its the way the Hotels are situated , where the Main entertainment stage is it can be like being in a Wind tunnel )

There is also a Outdoor Cinema, But i think its Peak season only.

Petting Zoo that is there is small but as you baby is small it should provide plenty for Him / Her to see / Pet etc ( Also a Pool on hand there too + a Bar is there too :P )

Take FULL advantage of the facilities there, Remember its ALL Free ( all inclusive ), When we first went there the Kids were getting alittle of each food for the first few days ( trying bits & bats etc ) but at the end of the first dinner we had, the kids had left 3 plates EACH ( 3 kids = ALOT of full plates FULL of food they didnt like.
Also if you are going to the Beach , there is a FREE bus for you which leaves every 20 mins, but when you have been on the bus a few times you will findout that the beach is less than a 10 - 15 mins walk (which we did most of the time ).

At night there is a few stall holders that cominto the Complex ( Sweets / Jewelry / Hair plats / Funny Picture drawing Etc ) Try NOT to use these as in the Day outside ( when walkin to the beach ) you will See / Find same products / Sweets / Hair platting etc at MUCH cheaper prices ( So buy bags of sweets etc at the supermarket Accross the road ).

Also If going to the Beach . goto the Bar / Burgerbar at the Olympic style swimming pool. There you can get Prepacked Sandwhiches & Bottled Water ( in the Fridges ) , when bottle is Empty or none left in fridge there is a COLD water fountain you can use to refill / refresh your water :)
Also whey you walk around the Lake there is a Fruit stand ( Free ofcourse ) where you can get Melon etc in little Punnits ( DONT buy the Melon or fruit from the Peeps on the beach ( worked-out at about 4pounds for 1 slice of Melon there).

You DONT usualy have to get-up at 5a.m to put towels on the Lylows either ( Plenty to go round ) But the sun spots are usualy taken-up in this way
When on the Beach try stay close to 1 of the Piers . Helps you keep track of where you Lylow & bags are.

Last but not least . when you have your evening meal . try comedown when its first opend, as after the first 30 mins its FULL . then when the entertainment starts you can / Do & WILL struggle to find a decent seat.
( Also in 1 of the hotels ( 3 of them on the complex ) there is a Snackbar open untill midnight ( Chips / Fritters etc )

Damm srry for the Long Post, but there is soo much to do / see. Me & the family think its awsome there for the kids. Its ALL there for you so just use the facilities & entertainment to your FULL advantage ( Remember you HAVE already paid for this before you went ).

ALL the family goes, there isnt muchelse available elswhere that offers & provides soo much. Its that good we have been 3 times before. Going again in 5 days time for another 2 weeks ( 2 Aug Wooot ) ( went last year & was 15 of us ( Family holiday )).

Hope some of this helps.

( BTW buy some things from the chemist from over here b4 you go > Diacalms / Pricklyheat Tabblets or cream / Bite & Sting cream etc ) as the local chemist is NOT very good at English & can take quite sometime to try get accross what you want.

Verrrrrry doubtful for a room upgrade on arrival. Rooms are either two queen beds, or family rooms with same plus bunk beds. Family rooms in extremely short supply. At the moment people who booked the family rooms are not receiving them, due to overbooking problems.
