Hi,Ive just come back from my caravan and seen this post. The Turban is a fantastic hotel. It opened summer 2006 and we walked passed several times when it was been built.I thought it would be mega expensive to stay there but I got an excellent late deal last June.Friends were coming with us who had never been to Turkey before and they loved it although its probably spoilt them for staying in another hotel. The rooms are the best I have ever stayed in as they consisted of a large double bedroom with a large full bathroom and another room off with twin beds and a shower room. Both with TV and hair dryer. The grounds are like a park with several pools set in pine trees coving a large area.We loved the decked area with large cushions overlooking the sea.The main dining room was enormous with only a few non smoking tables but we tipped a lovely waiter and he kept our table in the non smoking area. There is also an outdoor eating area. There were only about 20 British guests when we were there but the other guests were mainly families from Eastern Europe(Bulgaria and Ukraine) and Israel.
The hotel is midway between Marmaris and Icmeler. If you google the Turban and look on the links there are lots of photos.

Hi Jay

Who did you book it with, would it be suitable for a family summer holiday with a couple of teenagers ?

Cheers, Doe

Hi Doe,Thomson are the only UK company there. It is in their Beach Club brochure.I booked it after I saw it on Thomsons teletext. When I phoned them I couldnt believe it when they said it was for this hotel as it was only £239 from Teeside.I checked the web price and it was £490 at the same time. There were mainly small children there when we were there but it was in June. There was entertainment every night in the Amphitheatre done in several languages. We were there when the heatwave arrived and were thankful for the trees! In the main school holidays I think there will be more teenagers there but the British were in the minority when we were there. The rooms are perfect for a family.

I will be able to email you and you can book Club Turban direct with the manager for me. LOL. Although I guess you wont live in Marmaris. Property market is dead down south as well.

Chris,If you google Club Turban(sorry I still cant do links!)there is details on their website of prices and direct bookings. You only pay for a adults as children go free, but it works out a lot dearer than what we paid, which included the flights etc.
There an excellent image of the hotel on google earth now.Jay

Hi Jean
I've just had a google, it looks lovely in the photos. Is it actually in Marmaris, or is it between Marmaris and Icmeler ?

It is nearer to Icmeler although classed as being in Marmaris. It is in the area of Siteler. Its not far from the big Migros and the new wter park on the hill. Its next door to the Divan mares hotel. We walked to Icmeler along the lovely coastal path and it was 1.65 miles.(I had my pedometer on!)The Marmaris Palace is its sister hotel and you can use both hotels as you get the same AI braclets which are twine with glass beads woven into them.We didnt bother as it didnt look as nice.If we could have gone 1 week earlier the Marmaris palace was available for only £189 for 1 week!

we have stayed at the marmaris palace and so has my daughter on a separate holiday it was dreadful, rooms run down, food diabolical and no choice and in april and nov when we were both there most facilities were closed, so i wouldnt recommend the marmaris palace

Hi everyone, :) first time to Turkey in June, staying at Club Turban, can anyone give us any advice on trips or things to see and do please ? thanks Louise

I stayed here in June 2007 and if you click on the hotel reviews you can read my review.
We didnt go on any trips as when we were there there was a heatwave and it was 40c+
We just went to Marmaris and Icmeler a few times as the hotel is midway between the 2 resorts.
The decking area on the sea front now has tables and chairs as it had large bean bags on when we were there which was a lovely place to sit during the day.
British were very much in the Minority when we were there but we were with friends so it didnt bother us to much.If we had been on our own we would have gone out every evening as the entertainment was a bit naff :rofl
Its a lovely hotel and the rooms in the blocks scattered amongst the pine trees are the best I have stayed in as they consist of 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
