We are thinking of going to Turkey (Icmeler) for a family holiday this summer. Noticed that Thomsons were doing a new all inclusive hotel called Turban Palace but can not find any more information on it on any other websites. (Am not even sure if it is built yet!) Is there anyone know anything about this hotel - would really appreciate it. Also, could you tell me if there are many family attractions in Icmeler. Went to Bulgaria a couple of years ago and it was full of children's bungees, slides, trampolines and that type of thing. Is there anything like this in Iclemer or is it a little more refined! Just want to make sure the children will be okay before we book. Many thanks.

We didnt see anything for kids like that - just banana boats I think. Marmaris had pedaloes too.
Never heard of the Turban Palace but will no doubt be getting built at the back of the village as I don't think there is anywhere else to put anything new.

I wonder if its the Marmaris Palace?

Ah I think I know where it is.
Firstlyt if it is on the beach between Icmeler and Marmaris the it is classed as Marmaris.
I remember riding past the Marmaris Palace last year and just after it towards Marmaris before the barriers there was some building work going on and it was screened off so you couldn't see what was going on so I reckon it could be there.

Many thanks for all your replies - still debating on whether or not to book this hotel! Have got quite a good price for a week A/I in June so am tempted but still a little unsure as there is so little info about it in the brochure.
I have spoken to Thomson's who have said that everything is running to schedule and it should be opening in May. However they cannot confirm that all the facilites will be open such as the waterslides etc, which we did really want.
I have emailed the Marmaris Palace to see if they can help at all as someone said they were owned by the same Company, but have not had a reply as yet. If anyone knows any more details, or can put me in touch with someone who would know, I would really appreciate it.

Just to let you all know, I emailed the Marmaris Palace about the new Turban palace hotel in Icmeler that was being built. They said that they did indeed own it and would send me a brochure. Today I received a package which was sent by ANC couriers, containing an interactive cd, a mouse mat and a large waterproof turban palace beach bag! How about that for service - could not believe thay had gone to so much trouble! Anyway hotel looks and sounds lovely, although most of the photos were artists impressions etc. Just thought I would let you all know and wanted to commend then on such excellent service!

Does anyone know if this new hotel is finished yet as I cannot find reviews anywhere. - or even a proper photograph as I can only find computer generated images.

we are due to go to the turban palace hotel on 5th of june. we cannot find photos or reviews either so if anyone has information please let us know. thomson have ensured us that the hotel is built however it would be nice to have some sort of insight before we go

Hi, we had booked a holiday to the Turban Palace for the 9th to the 17th of June. Today I received a phone call from Thomson informing me that the hotel will not be complete until later on in the month and now we will have to make other holiday arrangements.

Due to go to turban palace 1st june also got call today to say hotel would not be ready until 18th june! and have been offered alternative accomodation or full refund.
That is a shame. Hope you get a good deal out of them. We are due to go in August but hopefully it will be done by then. 
1st June if it is the one that me and Rami were looking at from the main Marmaris-Icmeler road then it may be ready 1st June 2007 so I would get on the phone to your tour operator to make sure that you are not going to be switched last minute.

I have been trying to decide between this hotel and a couple in Calis Beach for August.
Decision now made - NOT this one! Even if it is open by August 2006 it could still be having "teething problems".
My inlaws went to a hotel within 6 months of it opening and it was awful. They hadn't got the laundry sorted, food ran out in the buffet, they didn't have enough staff/trained staff. Staff had no idea to deal with little problems that arose.
For us it's Calis Beach this year and maybe Turban Place next year subject to the reviews on here.

had a massive row with thomson today, the alternative accomadation they had offered us was only 3 star when the turban palace was a 5 star. was on the phone from 9 o'clock this morning til half past 4 arguing the fact that we deserved the same quality accomodation. we have finally had some good news and will be going to turkey on 6th of june to a five star hotel. finally! i will never book up another hotel that hasnt already been built again and i advise others to do the same.
