We walked from Ikaria Village, opposite Aliceland Restaurant to the Harbour on our recent visit over Easter.
The lovely coastal walk timed to watch the sun set over the med was very pleaseant and our two young girls loved the 3 mile "adventure".
Once we reached the coast from Ikaria, the track was well trodden and the girls preferred the undulations than the formal footpath further on.
Once passed the Venus Beach Hotel, we hugged the boundary fence of the Tombs of the Kings and spotted the tombs we had visited the previous day.
Once at the Elysium Hotel the track turned into a lovely constructed crazy paved footpath until we reached the beach prior to the Paphos Mosaics and a dirt track appeared.
This track lead along the fenceline of the Paphos Mosaics which didnot seem as far from in the distance. The lighthouse now looked very close but the track takes you suprisingly further around than I remembered.
From here we could look back and see how far we had come, even spotting the distinctive Ikaria Village on the slopes.
It was lovely to turn back toward the Harbour, believing you were at the end of Cyprus and minutes later with the sun long set, we were heading into the Harbour and having to make the difficult decision of where to eat.
We were never more than 100m from the sea and although the track at times was not ideal, with care it made the walk even more enjoyable.
The 3 mile walk was pleasant but the Tombs of the Kings Road is always just a couple of minutes away if we fancied a break and the Hotels too are very accommodating.
The coastal path starts at the large hotels at the far side of Paphos and seems to end just past the St George Hotel at Siennas about 8 miles in total. Of course there are always plenty of bus stops, hotels, bars and restaurants to help you are your way.
