Hi Myles,
One has to ask who is responsible for this whole mess! Perhaps it is both of them! Whoever it is it is a disgrace, it isn't as if your cruise was booked last week! I can understand the problem with bookings made just last week but not those of longstanding!
In view of your circumstances (ie. leaving home early) perhaps you should send Peter Pate an email, or even phone him!
I honestly don't think you need to worry that they have given you a cabin companion - surely R*** wouldn't dare! Whatever you do, make absolutely sure you take your confirmation form with you to prove you are a solo traveller!
What a hobby horse ride this all is, seventh heaven one minute and the depths of despair the next!
Cheers, M
Got so carried away then with the thought of Myles on top, that I forgot the reason for my posting - any one any idea on how to 'upload' photos I did it once before re Timperley, but Van removed them, on legal grounds. i do have some of Sri Lanka but I am unable to upload them, am I blackballed, in a sense of the word (Not litrilly) ant I good at spelling - I got a Z at school for it - I must have been good as everyone else got a B and one of two got A but I was the only Z. I was so proud.
Byeeefor now
eldest daughters wedding aniversary, so guess who's baby sitting

Alas no idea how you upload pics Phil, if l could do the "quotes" l would have a field day. Good luck with the baby sitting, oh and take care with the scottish water
"SOLE occupancy of berth - Again, Alli, I did say at time of booking you would have cabin to yourself!"
I presumably was stupid to dare to query it........
So there you are folks, if you have been TOLD so, then it MUST BE SO!
Just as everything we have been told is exactly so
Maybe I shouldn't have posted that as it's a quote from a certain company. Perhaps it will be
I personally dread the thought of opening MY cabin door,on MY cruise,to find some strange man on MY coverlet , and god forbid its bunk beds, can you imagine me on top !!!!!!!!!

Ah yes Phil, the wonderful lyrics and music of Rogers and Hammerstein and isn't it annoying how many people think that Gerry and the Pacemakers wrote "When you walk through a storm"!!! Glad we sorted out the baggage thingey - off to shop for shoes now

Hi Guys & Gals,
Great pictures and writeup Alii, thankyou!
joan, just looked at teletext if prices have gone down that much there must be plenty of spaces so they could put lots of h.t.s on or even give us luxery cabins then we might all spread the word how marvellous every thing is!!!!!
I WONDER WHEN THE d ofE will run another great promotion?
what will we all do when thisis all resolved????the net waves will be empty!!!!!
must tidy up friends into dinner.carol
Just saw a query re mobile phones working at sea, but on another thread, so I thought I'd post here. You have to find out from your provider (Orange, Virgin etc) whether the area is covered. Their website should provide answers - if not pop in to their shop and ask there, or phone the company. Some networks will enable your phone to be used where you're going, if you ask them to. Some people's phones work, others don't. I never take mine cruising, as I prefer to forget the real world for the duration and just enjoy living the fantasy, so I can't tell you whether my company does or doesn't have masts and thingies wherever. I should add that using your mobile at sea can be expensive if satellites are involved - that's why using the ship's Internet (where available) is also expensive (something like 1 euro for 2 mins).
enjoyed the photos and write up it looked really lovely, I expect you are well and truly brown now vivien.
Thanks for the write up and photos Alli they are super.I wish i was as good with IT thingies as you are. I must admit i'm quite thick. My thirteen year old is very good compared to me. Hope she can help me with my reveiw when i return. Hopefully it will all have been covered by then.
To all those who are ready to set off I hope you have a good time and bring back some good memories. When you think about it we have a lot to thank certain companies for cos i dont think i would be going otherwise.

Great write-up and photos. for finding the time to do this - very much appreciated as it makes our cruises seem real and I am getting excited at the thought of mine in just 4 weeks now!
Cheers!
Alli with 2 l's
PS - this is being edited because I know I can't count (either that or I'm just soooooooo anticipating this cruise and wishing my life away) but to save anyone else pointing this out, I mean 5 weeks, not 4.
