A new cruise has been confirmed (by phone) today!!!

Whilst I am pleased that people are being offered cruises I am starting to get annoyed again. I was originally offered a cruise on 16 May but could not get R*** to contact me again to confirm it. I was then offered one in Oct but asked for the May one as it suited me much better, I was told there was no availability before October so accepted it.
I am happy to be going on a cruise at all and realise I am much better off than so many others but why the sudden availability now, (especially as the weather is getting so bad this week)? Are new cruisers being coerced into sharing which I refused to do?

Greetings everyone, just a quickie to let you all know us melodians of the 9th May sailing are or have all arrived back After our superb cruise on Melody, too exhausted like everybody else but you can expect us all online with our views, comments etc but its safe to say everyone had a great time and dare l say are cruise aholics now???

Im so pleased to have made it back, was convinced that atwales would have had me thrown overboard after St Tropez!!! had only just managed to get him sorted out on what a ship and a boat was and then he sees a bleeding ferry!!! ... but shall tempt you with quickie bits,
THE PUPPETS!!! COVERLETS.... THE RUSH FOR THE BUFFETS, ROMANCES ON THE HIGH SEAS , GALA BUFFET,ALITALIA!!!! and our Pink bus!!! we all have our favourite bits.. l just feel like a dead fish cast ashore and left to the mercy of the wind and rain.. and l know the rest of the gang wont believe me but will drop in shock but there were bits that were better than QE2... and l never thought l would say that
to anybody going soon your in for a great time!!! the pain of the past year will vanish the moment you step aboard.... presently im going round with a hamper strapped to my back, seems to be we were always eating and stuffing our mouths....scarlet lovely weather for the time of year
everybody is exhausted after the cruise, but l assure you it was great fun.
anyway, lm off to bed. with thoughts of the melody off again round the med and our wonderful 7 nighter... would definately do another **** promo

Yes, we're back from the gleaming Melody, what an AMAZING week. I envy all who have yet to sail on her.

The only thing that topped the ship, staff, food and drink, places and coverlets (and the free wine every night!!!) were the HT friends we all made.

CunardQueen (Myles), Scarlet (Jan), Martyn, Tooncryer, Bob, Ray, Tony, Michael, Helen, Phil you are ALL stars and made this all worth it, it was just so much fun. Plus all the others.

I still havn't found my land legs and my brain is still swaying after the long drive back to Bristol.

Sorry for not posting while I was aboard but we were having too much fun, anyone who has any questions about Linate transfers etc. Please PM me and I'll answer everything. It was all very easy and smooth.

Will post a proper review tomorrow.

Great news that you have all returned happy and safe. It's good to hear Myles that a couple of things were better than the QE2, I am really looking forward to going in October.
It was also very good of you both, to post as soon as you got home as you are undoutedly tired.

I'm back from my travels and a little subdued,
What a fabulous ship, what a wonderful cruise.

The settings, the sunshine; what absolute bliss,
Did I forget to mention we were frequently p***ed!

The food was delicious, aplenty all day,
Caberet and dancing, how terribly gay!

Waiters on hand for our every whim
(Even the cabin boy's accommodating!!)

The Captain's called Stiffa, he's a jolly old sort,
They say he's a raver in each little port!

But now it's all over, I'm so sad to say,
The friends I have made have all gone on their way.

So it's back to HT now our partying's done,
These cruises are real, you could be on the next one!!

I would of course like to thank the DE entertainment team who all made this trip so fantastic;

Cunardqueen, Buster, William, Scottish Widows, MajorcaRay, Tree Trunk, ATWales, Stonker, Tony, Cyndi and of course not forgetting the lovely Michael!

(Left the ship at 9am this morning and got home at 12.30am!!!!! Did I mention the French Air Traffic Controllers strike and the cancelled and delayed flights )

I'm now off for some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's.

I have the distinct impression that the enjoyment was as much to do with the company as the surroundings!

ABSOLUTELY Magsy. Without the friends I met on board things would have been so different I am sure. Have enough memories to last a lifetime and have a permanent smile on my face!!!
Will let CunardQueen fill you in when he gets online as he soooo much more descriptive than me. Have this really crazy feeling as I am still swaying everywhere this morning. Needless to say I am still in holiday mood!

Myself and abroadscots are off on the opera on saturday, i hope we have as good a time as you all had. silly question but how did you all get together(ht members and de readers), was it just through the site, or general chat over a whiskey or too at the bar. only we cant find anyone else who is going on our cruise.

Thanks so much for posting your first impressions and I can't wait to read the full reports. It sounds as if you all had a fabulous time and **** and the D**** E****** did you proud in the end. I get the distinct impression that you would have enjoyed yourselves anyway, given the people you were with. I can't wait for 4/7 when I am off, together with another friendly bunch of HT-ers. I'm sure we are also hoping for up-grades but whatever happens I'm sure we will enjoy the cruise.
