I hope cleve won't mind me mentioning, but he rejected their first offer and accepted their increased offer. This may be useful to anyone still fighting.

Thanks for all the good wishes, chaps and chapesses! I certainly do intend to book a mighty cruise. What a sweet victory.

One tip for other people pursuing a claim....try and get a quote for a cruise similar to the one you feel you're owed. Either a reference to a brochure or a link to a website...something like that. Don't forget to add on the single supplement - the £10 offer was for a sole passenger after all! This will add weight to your claim when it comes to settlement time.

Good luck everyone!

update from bao-lou.....Ihave received a letter from the local court {small claims division} and the district judge thinks that both sides should go to mediation so my case has been "stayed" for four weeks toallow time for a mutually aggreed appointment, apparently this can be sorted out over the phone,a mediator is appointed to assist the two parties to come to an aggreement/settlement so this frees up court time and costs etc,was this the usual step for all the other claimants who had thier case "stayed"?

Hi
Congratulations on your settlement Cleve, it is just a shame that you have had to go through all the stressful nonsense to get what you were entitled to,but I'm sure you will enjoy it all the more for standing firm.

no no ,no news so far,the judge has asked that we go to mediation, both me and the DE have aggreed and the date has been set for the 24th of sept, this doesnt mean that it will be settled on that day but as far as i can make out if we cant agree then we can go to the courts, the mediator is just there as a go between,so i still have all options open to me,has anyone else gone down this road?
thanks bao-lou

Luci is probably the best person to answer that one! I haven't heard of anyone going to mediation before but I haven't seen every post. Perhaps this is a new tack to see if they can come out of it any better off than giving people the cruises they were promised. I don't fancy their chances!! Too many precedents have been set!

Still keeping everything crossed for you!!!
