Sunwheels are a bit expensive, and an airport fee of €14.00.
Used carjey last time and they where quite good. Though you have to look out for the rep at the airport to get the minibus across to their garage.
BTW Aircon is a must
Book via the hotel, ask at Reception when you get there.
i was just wondering what previous holiday makers had found, is it best to hire a car here or wait till i get there, also does anyone know if there are sufficient car rental places to hire from?
Have hired a car locally twice before no problem but will be booking one from here to pick up from airport on arrival this year.
Santa Eulalia with family - fancy getting car for 2 days - should i just sort it out once over there (mid july) or book it in advance ??

If you are going in high season it would probably be best to book then yoiu can guarentee the type of car you want. Sunwheels were also much cheaper than renting in resort.

Just booked mine at
Just thought i would drop you a line, i used to be a holiday rep who worked in santa eulalia last year!
Forgive me if i seem ignorant but when booking a car for use of abroad please make sure that you read all terms and conditions as most car rental companies do not offer an excess waiver which means you have a bump and you pay out vast amounts of cash!
I know of 2 car companies which do and that is Europcar known to spanish and canarians as Betacar and Avis!
Inregards to baby seats or bumper seats just request them at time of booking!

Does anybody have any experience using carjet.co.uk for hiring a car in Ibiza - their rates seem really good compared to others?
Whan we used sunwheels we picked up the car in resort so no airport fees.
Can anybody recommend a good car hire firm there please? Is it best to pre-book or wait until we arrive?
Arranged it through the rep but the prices were not arip off and I should know been in the motor trade for over 20 years
Hope this helps
http://www.carjet.com to be very reasonable but think you can only pick up from the airport, worth asking,John.
I find
Normally book with Carjet but seem a bit pricey for next year, £340 for two weeks end of July for a Focus Estate.
I am trying to find a car hire company that allows pickup from the Airport and drop off in resort (es cana) and the reverse for the home journey.
We have gone DIY for the 1st time and had toyed with hiring a car for the whole two weeks - but know it wont get used all the time
Any help appreciated
Cheers

I dont know the Es Cana tel No sorry..........John.
You might try one of the major companies (Hertz/Eurocar etc) they may have an office at the airport which allows you to actually pick up and drop off the car at the airport

(You would probably end up paying through the nose for this though )
Unless some thing has changed recently I don't think Hertz or Europcar have an depot in Es Cana for the drop off though.
SpyroPyro, not sure what you are asking is possible unfortunately. I think you will have to hire from the airport and take it back to the airport (they usually charge you extra for dropping it off back in another place anyway). At the airport get a taxi or bus back to Es Cana.
Best of luck though, if you are successful I would be very interested in hearing the details!

how long is the bus ride - and how much would taxi cost for three from airport to the resort??
other alternative is to hire a car for the full two weeks - be easier - and have found a couple of companies that will do two weeks car hire (with AC) for under £300
Cheers

2 years ago a taxi from the airport to Escana was around €35 Euros so I expect its €40 now.
